Fixing Ph Right After Water

Hey guys! Thanks for reading. Things have been going pretty good. Had to cull a few males so I’m down to 3 AGAIN. Getting fem seeds from here on out.. anyway..!
I watered yesterday in the afternoon (not primo I know). Gave about a gallon each tap water to each plant in 5gal pots. 50/50 ffof and Mother Earth coco peat.
Ive been fighting a magnesium deficiency (I think) and it hasn’t been too bad, but after this last watering the plants freaked. I see a phosphorus def on the lower leaf, mag def all over, and they’re drooping like crazy.
it’s not ph any other ideas.
AND
The point of the post- how, if I JUST watered yesterday, can I lower ph without drowning these poor plants? I have ph down- I also measured the tap water ph earlier, it’s at almost 8 so I’m sure that’s the reason.

Here they were just a couple days ago for reference.. this really smacked hard after I watered yesterday. Also- I’m in Washington, it’s pretty smoked out. I think my water comes from aquifers but could the fires be affecting this? Usually the ph is 7.2-7.5..

I'm not actually sure you can adjust the PH after watering without flushing it out with more water. IMO, id flush quickly with the correct PH water. Id rather deal with overwater than the possibilities of the plants not accepting the water at all. Maybe someone with more knowledge on this will chime in soon.
Be sure its a ph issue first! I'm definitely seeing deficiencies in your stems/stalks. Do you allow the pots to dry well before watering again? Could be overwatering (although I don't think so).
Before doing anything, id wait for more advice and opinions from others members.
Your plants looked very healthy in the previous pics btw! Nice job.

PS: Have your stems/stalks always showed black/purple stripes and super pale nodes? In picture 2, the stalk is very black and white looking. No green at all.
One more thing, whats the PH of the runoff?

One is hydroponics and one is soil.......they have different pH requirements for proper nutrient uptake.

It’s not straight coco, just has some in it. Both mixes are ready to use mixes, but I’ve had troubles with straight ffof burning my plants.

What makes me think ph is that everything was pretty much fine, then after a single watering (like I NORMALLY do) they freaked. I tested my tap ph and it was 8, which is higher than normal. Won’t root issues like this show deficiencies? I wanted to fix ph before throwing more nutrients at them.

You said it was 50/50 coco/ffof.
With that much coco in it.........I'm at a loss as to what pH you should use.
You should pH everything you give your plant.......even plain water.

Next time you might consider peat moss as an amendment to your soil instead of coco..

I said 50/50 ffof, coco PEAT. So it’s less than 1/4 coco.
 
This plants has been grown in the same mix... just given water from the hose. I know it’s not my mix that’s the issue here guys..

This may not have anything to do with it but when I use tap water, I pour it into a tub and let it sit for 24 hours (outside).

I was thinking about this.. I did it for a while, inside and out. I ended up getting lazy and would only do it sometimes. Then I looked into my water reports and they don’t put any chloride/ine in our water. Pretty much straight from the aquifers.
 
Did a flush with water pHed to 6.0 about 2 hours ago.
Runoff pH was 7.0 , 7.1 (shortest plant) , 7.0.
thinking they’re overwatered- but if I give em a few days they could bounce back. I was also thinking of doing a foliar application of Epsom salts. Should I wait a couple days or go ahead and do it tonight?

I didn't know you could foliar spray with Epsom salts. I thought it was a soil only thing. You learn something new every day. But I visualize salt residue on my leaves and burn.

I’ve only noticed a couple little splotches of salt when I do foliars with the Epsom salts. If it’s really bugging me I just spray em lightly with water and it comes of. I usually do it at lights off, don’t know if this has any effect on residue.
 
Well here they are today guys! Definitely looking better.. I’m thinking one more watering at pH 6.0, should bring the medium down to 6.5 ish if it’s near 7..
they look really lime green, Mag deficient, and I’m thinking phosphorus as well. After this next watering (probably in 2 days) if it still hasn’t regained color, should I try adding some grow nutes or a top dress?

My plants are a little older than yours but this is what I use every day. And my leaves are all dark green with no sign of nute burn. CalMag 1 t. per gallon, FF Bloom and Buds 3 t. per gallon, "Flower Power" one small scoop per gallon and a teaspoon of Epsom salts. I have this 4-gallon tub that I pour water into and let it sit for 24 hours. Then I get my 4 ingredients out and put 4 t. of CalMag, 12 t. of FF Bloom and Buds, 4 small scoops of Flower Power and 1 teaspoon of Epsom salts. I stir this up and pour it into 16-0z. Dr. Pepper bottles and it nets about 20 bottles. Each morning, I give each plant two of them. Then, depending on the heat, which we've been in the high 90s all summer, I may give them one more bottle to drink before bed. I give this to them every single day and they love it. The leaves are dark green and there are no burnt tips which would indicate I'm overdoing it so as long as they stay perked up, dark green and appear happy, I'm happy! Oh and I never pH my water. I read somewhere if you have outdoor plants you don't have to soooo, I don't have that headache!

Are your plants flowering? It sounds like a great flower recipe with the bloom and flower power. And what medium are they in? I feel like I’ve now sapped my medium of anything. I’m going to water tomorrow morning with normal pHed water and see the effect. If they still look so bad I’m gonna feed em. I’ve got a few different bottles of stuff..

Epsom salt works best as a foliar spray. Just dissolve it in some hot water at first. Then add cold water after it dissolves.
