Fricken A!

Went to the doctor and he scheduled me for an ultrasound tomorrow. Says I am only 50% effaced and not dialated any further!

I swear if they tell me I need to be induced..... :wall:

If however they tell me I need to be induced, I will be taking bids on the induction date. First bid starting at $100 dollars!
LOL Damn you're clever! Don't let them induce you and don't worry. First babies usually go 10 lunar months. I didn't want to tell you but it's the truth. The male ob/gyn's get real nervous but the baby will come out when it and YOU are ready. Sorry hun I do know precisely how you feel three times over!

Inductions make for a harder labor so unless he gives you really good reason (placental insufficiency et al), go as natural as you can. If they do induce you they start by breaking the water and then in a few hours if nothing progresses they'll hang some Pitocin. The good side of the induction is it's a little heavier labor but is usually much quicker so it balances out. You are on the downward slope! It's almost over!

Natural Labor> Long Labor> Induction> C-section

I want to wait as long as possible for a natural birth. When she is approaching too big for natural delivery, then I might let them induce me.

They are gonna take a look at her size tomorrow on the ultrasound and give me an idea of how much longer I can wait.

Though bi-parietal diameters are the hallmark OB/Gyn's go by there's actually quite a bit of lee way. The hormones toward the end of pregnancy soften our cartilage at the symphasis pubis so that our pelvis will actually swing open to some degree usually just enough. It's amazing what can pass through. I'm your size and build I had an 8#, 11#, and 10.5# (the guys are all now hanging over the side barfing LOL).

Oh I can believe it. I pulled my hip muscles a few times this pregnancy. lol

Not only the cartilage, but the ligaments become flexible.

I will prob have some ultrasound pics to show today after the appt.

She is gonna be huge!
This won't be accurate if you have any gestational diabetes or pre eclampsia. But just spit balling I'd guess around 8lb and 21.5" give or take a little ;) Can't wait to see the ultrasounds!

Wth guys. I thought you were supposed to be sending me birth vibes!

She is still up in there!!!!!!

I can't be mad at those chubby bunny cheeks tho..
She's a doll and she looks almost ready. Amazing the new 3d ultrasonography. Software and mathematics can be a magical thing.
