Flint Water Supply

They changed back to Detroit water last October. It talks a while for the biofilm to build up to protect the lead pipes from leeching. No one is dying or even sick from the lead. The few people that have elevated lead levels can be treated effectively. Yes, it was a travesty but you can't blame our governor. As soon as he found out what was going on he acted. What we don't need is a bunch of lawyers getting rich from class action lawsuits. They are the only ones who benefit from such actions. AND, did I mention how much I hate the fargin media?

he is correct that most lead poisoning is not toxic.

but incorrect as you can remove some lead out of people's blood but once you are lead poisoned its hard or impossible to get it out of the body.

Lol, I'm not a republican I just don't like smear campaigns. What makes me sickest is that Hillary is the best we can do for a candidate. She's evil incarnate in my opinion. I would vote for anyone other than Hillary. It's hard to remove lead from a persons system but it can be done. Again I state that the only ones that will benefit from class action lawsuits are the lawyers. The US is a sue happy country. We sue people more than anyone else in the world. Thank the lawyers and their ads for that. Thank the people who think they are entitled to freebies.

What's a real shame is that Flint water is so expensive. Also what's a real shame is that the Democratic administrations ruined Flint like they ruined Detroit and Pontiac. Then they want the rest of the state to bail them out and blame Snyder for their troubles. What a crock.

The media comes running like rabid dogs when they get a chance to jump on the bandwagon. I say again, they switched back to detroit water months ago. Now all of the sudden it's big news? I hate the liberal media more than I hate the conservative bible thumping republicans. Well almost more.

I love the liberal media. The alternative is Fox News, which is simply a mouthpiece for the will of the 1%.

Given the choice, I'll absolutely take liberal media.

Some of the comments here startle me. Lead is one of the longest and best known neurotoxins, especially to developing nerve tissue.

Are we downplaying the risk? Allowing the guilty to dodge this, since it's really not all that bad?

Who made the decision to use chloramine rather than chlorine and why

Why are we not having this conversation? Just a decade ago a similar bad decision was made in Washington DC with strikingly similar results, pipe damage and lead leaching as we see in Flint today. There are other cities in this nation heading down this same path and none of the political bullshit we are witnessing in Flint (or here) has any intention of addressing the actual problem or ensuring other communities don't end up in the same situation. The EPA knows what happened in DC a decade ago, in Flint a year ago and is happening in California and elsewhere today ...

All true. Most shit is dealt with when the shit breaks and people / environment are harmed. Oil Line #5 in Lake Michigan - That'll be dealt with only when it leaks badly. Minor leaks are tolerable and within annual accumulation allowances. Bridges will have to crumble before being repaired.

However we spend 10X that amount overseas

Fox sucks it's true. What I'd love to see is an unbiased news station. Of course I'd love to see Jesus walk on water too but that ain't gonna happen either.

I liked the way they forgot to ask the President how the Asian talks were going at the conference.
Just "do you support Trump??".

I watch a little of both MSNBC and Fox News, as it's the only way to obtain the full story (aka listening to both sides). Although, if you cannot identify the ignorance of both you're missing something and likely just a part of the problem (partisan) ...
