SO lets talk infrared cameras, can they see threw roofs and like far down into basements or do they look for heat being vented out, because if you flew by a house and swiped it with the camera ur not guna get two metal halides your guna get every 3000 degree burning incandescent light bulb, heater, fridge, ac, anything producing heat. But still does anyone have an idea I know the strong ones are decently big (domes on the bottom of helicopter)

Yes infrared cameras can see into a basement and authorities can distinguish between heat sources such as an incandescent light vs a HID. However police can not use one unless a warrent has been obtained. The supreme court ruled it's a violation of your 4th amendment rights.

Oh I keep my bulbs cool like super cool(can put finger acouple mm's from bulb no heat 400w) like the fans right on it no tubing length loss so they wouldnt be able to tell mines a HID.

if someone gives them a tip of there is a grow in a certain building they will then use the camera on the premises to see if the tip off could be true, but they will not do one premises at a time they will wait until they have had a few tip offs and then check all the premises, they will then check them 2 or three times and then get a warrant for that place.

it is hard to prove a heat source is anything during the day except normal living conditions so never grow at night.
in summer when it is hot during the day it is impossible to use these cameras. they work better in the dark anyway.

you would not have a heavy heat coming from your chimney every night at 4am in the morning but i must admit it is even harder to convince a prosecutor to issue a warrant because there is heat coming from a chimney if you vent it up there !!!!!

That's a thermal imaging shot from the UK.

Give the amount of light, I'd assume this was a complete farm, probably housing about 200-400 plants. There is no way you'd see something like this for a small personal grow.

FLIR cameras cant see through anything, its not an X-ray. Nor can they tell the difference between incandescent or HID, all they can see is how hot or cold an object is.

lol and thank you I had to troll him a little haha but i knew someone would correct him haha.

But yeah even in the apache video, they cant tell heat sources threw buildings unless their fucking intense heat, they can tell heat being vented outside and depending on the time and what nazi police state you live in they may or may not obtain a warrant but for most of us personal consumption growers I dont think theres a worry.

But think about it cost to put a heli in the air at least 4 to 5 grand for fuel pilots. maybe in larger areas they have money for this where i live it would have to be a large scale operation.
the only place they show helicopters flying reg is in cali and the national forests looking for cartel grows all pot shows on tv. u think u should see video from large busts with thermal evidence of a home 90 percent of getting caught is people telling people what u do.

The cost of a raid in the UK is apparently £22,000, yet they'll still shoot the little guy in the head and go for small farms(4-5 plants). Believe me, if they can get funding for it, they'll use it regardless.

Well maybe in the u.k. they have funding for it. The converter says almost 34000 to usd. thank god are economy is horrible here state side because alot of us would be in trouble. i do argee if funding was there they would do it. In my area of michigan they rent a miltary chopper to search the fields and powerlines but even then its rite around harvest time and they only fly out less then a handful of times. And five years ago it was double that they just dont have the money to do it. A another rollitup grower is a good childhood friend of mine ak47skunk and he had some juciyfruits out in a field behind his house and he was out watering late one nite when a heli came over head he said it hovered rite close to him and he just layed down might have just been luck but that didnt see him and they never came back for plants.
