flood and drain better than DWC?

I was wondering, what advantages does a flood and drain setup have over a DWC?

I got all the setup for a smallish flood and drain table with the res and everything, but am now thinking of putting it in a cupboard/wardrobe, and was thinking DWC would be a better space saver. Then i got thinking, why would anyone choose flood and drain over DWC?

I was thinking that maybe after the flood and due to the draining, that the roots get more oxygen and produce better growth? Is that right? Anything elso would be great.

Well, from what I understand DWC isn't as efficient as ebb and flow (flood and drain).

What I found from my two quickly abandoned attempts to do a DWC is that getting the pH right in that tiny amount of water will drive you crazy. Both times I just gave up after a few days of the pH bouncing all over the place. Hulk dumb, soil easy.

thanks for the reply.
Thats something i didn't consider, having the bigger res would lead to a more stable ph. Cheers!

Yeah, I really want to do a hydro but after reading a lot about it I finding that I really need to plop down $200 for a good pH and TDS meter.

I also figure I have a lot more learning to do so I think I'd better stay with soil till I get better at recognizing plant issues and how to deal with them.

Plus I keep reading that "The Top Dutch Growers" only grow in soil. At least for their cannibis cup entries.
