flora series 3 part ph always going down

Switched over to the flora series to try it out and I've been trying it at lucas formula of 2:1 bloom/micro. Had it at 8ml/gal micro, 16ml/gal bloom and ph went down from 5.9 to 5.5 in 2 days. then went to 5ml/gal micro, 10ml/gal bloom and ph still going down about same pace. EC is at 1.7 with 5ml micro 10ml bloom. Flood and drain

If you do have air stones, take them out. You don't need to oxygenate the reservoir for a flood and drain. The carbon dioxide in the air bubbles causes the pH to drop. Carbon dioxide dissolved in the solution will drop the pH and also create a little carbonic acid also dropping the pH.

I have also noted that large populations of thriving beneficial bacteria can cause the pH to drop due to organic acids they excrete.

I don't know about air stones causing CO2...quite the opposite, but you are correct that CO2 (such as while supplementing in a flower room) can dissolve and cause pH to slightly lower. I think the main issue here is a bacterial bloom, and not a beneficial one. Running chillers and airstones is key, but I have more experience with DWC rather than flood and drain
