Floraflex irrigation air bleed valve

I grow in coco and I'm a big fan of runoff, even tho its a bit wasteful. That said, if you do drain to waste and always allow runoff, maybe the stagnant water is a non issue - not sure. If you're running coco, I would advise against skipping runoff. If not coco, I have no opinion.
Ya I run coco with runoff always , we on the same page :hump:

I do think you're onto something with closing the manifolds. The fresh water will mix with the stagnant and then you water. Probably AOK with that.
What I meant very little runoff in flowering

That's called an 'air admittance valve, or Studor valve" in the plumbing world.
It's used on drains under sinks that don't have access to a regular open air vent.

You guys have them setup correctly.
If you look them up, you could save some money next time if they ever need replaced by grabbing some from your local plumbing store.

Awesome setups btw.

I know. I've always stuck to a "lots of runoff" strategy but since I've never done differently, I can't offer any insight into not doing it. All I can say is that I never have imbalance issues. I never have to flush containers and I don't flush at the end. I guess we're entering methodology territory now...so I'll shut up.

Yep.
That's them.
Works the same way.
Smoke is just showing off cause he knows all of this stuff and you and I are the suckers buying the fancy green stuff from FF.
Notice how FF calls it Air Bleed so when we Google that, we get nothing. Air Admittance valve would have given us the info we needed.

Hey now, I use their bubblers too!

4 years of school and apprenticeship to become a plumber has come in handy @ times though... ;)
Helped me to make the hydro system I use now.

Yeah...what Ren said. Here is mine and yes, it spits a bit of water but not that much actually. I've been hanging a sweat shirt over mine but a cup is a bit more practical :)

Mine seems to be working great so far. I created a drain valve so the air will push much of the water out of the lines and back into the res.
I have the air bleed at the very end of the main line, per FloraFlex recommendation.

Beautiful set up. Man those pots are close. Are you doing 1 week veg then flip for a bunch of single cola plants? Are you running coco in your pots? Are they 2 gals?
