Hi peeps can someone please clarify for me, how to use the lucas formula in coco with floranova bloom? Can't seem to find a straight answer. Lucas says 8ml per gal but is this different with coco?

I'll be buying distilled water too. Using 2 gal smart pots.

cheers!

Lucas is basically using flower nutes for the plant from earliest you can give them till 2 weeks before harvest. Idea is that the flower nutes has ALL a plant needs to veg and can focus on growing more roots. More roots more fruit, or in this case more buds!

As far as for coco, never used it so maybe read up on how coco growing is done and such? Sorry I couldn't be too much of a help for you.

I want to switch to the nova line also but I'd like to know if you use both grow and bloom all the way thru or just grow in vet and bloom in flower...? I know dumb question but I'd like to find out before I get it cuz if u use both all the way thru I'd just stick with micro and bloom with Lucas method

You use the bloom only. You use it at the same dosage for the entire life of the plant. Nice and simple.

If you use floranova make sure you shake the bottle vigorously before each use. It contains all the nutrients the plants need + organics (additives) that cause lots of weird separation and precipitation. I know of people that refused to use it simply because of this.

I refused to use Maxibloom for the same reason. Too much mixing to get it all dissolved.

use warm water for maxibloom? I agree with floranova , it's very thick but still a good nutrient, I wouldnt use in coco tho.

your best bet for your grow is to take specialized nutrient for coco like canna/house and garden or botanicare. I think canna and house and garden are your best choice, they sell 2 part nutrient for start to finish in coco. I would choose canna as it contain more nutrient and additive in their base nutrients than house and garden.

Lucas uses flora 3 part not floranova.

Calmag is used if you have RO water and are not using Lucas.

If in coco your ph should be a little higher than if in some other medium 6.0 - 6.1 IMO. I target 5.9 & let it drift up

The PH for the feed water in coco should always be around 5.8 ....not higher. Not trying to say it wouldn't work, but the proper coco ph is 5.8. And as far as using Floranova with "the lucas method", that isn't possible.... because "The Lucas Method" is when you use only the Flora Micro and Flora Bloom throughout the grow (no Flora Grow necessary). The ratio for soil is 8ml Micro/ 16ml Bloom.... and the Lucas Method ratio in coco is 6ml Micro / 9ml Bloom (and YES to cal-mag if you're using RO).

Actually, the 6ml/gal micro, 9ml/gal bloom is "Heads modified" Lucas formula. Or the H3ad formula. But also calls for some epsom salt, as the extra micro is already supplying the extra Ca needed for coco.
I Ph to 6.0, find it to be best, and i've been growing in coco since it hit the shelves.

Even though Lucas has listed amounts to use with 1parts, I wouldn't call them Lucas formulas either;-)

But anyways, starting with RO water growing in coco:
3-4ml/gal of calmag, and 4ml/gal of EITHER maxibloom OR floranova bloom works just fine. And I would still much rather use a "grow" formula for veg and the stretch. Peace

i'm pretty sure GH copied Lucas Formula for the Flora Nova Bloom. Use it at 8ml/gal and it is the lucas formula. use 2 part micro and bloom or maxibloom in g/gal and it's all Lucas.
