you have to watch for the trichomes(little crystals) to be 50/50 milky/amber when they are clear they are premature
Wow, I am not a noob. I was referring to an article I read online about it not being potent right after harvest and that you must wait a little bit because it isn't fully potent after harvest b/c the thc has to convert from an acidic form to psychoactive.
THC, plus the other cannabinoids, are not active as they sit in nature(wet, fresh and/or not fully dead). The cannabinoids in fresh plant material are mostly in the acid forms, which are not psychoactive. The acid cannabinoids decarboxylate (they lose the gas, carbon dioxide) during the drying or curing processes, which convert them to their psychoactive neutral forms. Decarboxylation is complete if the marijuana is actually smokeable. At which point is this achieved, One day or a couple weeks?

i just got some bagseed that i got a couple years ago...the last of the real mids
What do you mean?

i wish i could grow right now...
why cant you?

Proper drying and curing will also ensure maximum potency of the marijuana you have grown. Marijuana is not potent just after harvest. Some of the THC is in a non-psychoactive acidic form. Drying marijuana the right way will convert the non-psychoactive acidic compounds into psychoactive THC. From http://www.a1b2c3.com/drugs/mj009.htm

Just picked up some killer sweet tooth that is smoking wonderfully. Wondering if one of you bums grew it :P I wouldn't ever (and am not!) ask, but if you grew some S.T. and cured in the last month or so, nice job! :D

:D Peace

Found out a few days ago, that it is a magnesium deficiency and i am going to add epsom salts with the next watering. Most of the top still looks healthy but it got pretty bald and scarce in the bottom half's inner canopy and was starting to spread to the top, be full of care everyone. Its pretty common for the plants to not have enough magnesium. It will normally show up on your tallest and best plants and it will look like its dying from the bottom up. It kills alot of the sun leaves. Also, i have some dead bud and im darn sure it isnt from botrytis. I have only seen a couple caterpillars, but that was a while ago and havent seen any since (i figured this is caused by them or BUD WORMS). The bud just basically dries up on the plants from their dung; not the whole bud, just pieces (calyxes and tiny crystally leaflets). So i picked some of the pieces off and took the little tiny tird looking drops out(which dries up the bud and kills it from nutrient burn, i guess.) So i picked it off and took the shit out and smoked it and got baked from a tiny bowl. bongsmilie, :peace: and :leaf:

Ca and Mg are very easy to get locked out of the roots as well. If you are in soil and the Ph drops below 6.4, the plant can't absorb any Mg or Ca. Unless you are using RO water, chances are the Ph is off before the nutrients are absent. It's always a good idea to keep Cal-Mag on hand. It is great in foliar sprays for fast fixes and I always add it to my feed water once a plant is in it's 4th week.

I have a ? for you guys. I have grown outside most of my life and my plants have all ways been ready to harvest around this time of year. Today in central florida is when 12/12 starts outside. my ? is since outside plants are pretty close to harvest time and 12/12 just started does this mean that when growing inside we could go to a flower cycle with 10 hrs of darkness if so our bud would be getting an extra 2 hrs of light.

i see what your saying. it more depends on strain. sativa strains probably take a lil more total darkness than a indica strain. each strain varies a few minutes to a few hours on when they are programmed to flower. in other words you can have two different bag seeds and one might flower at 14/10 but the other one might not but i can picture just about any plant flowering at 14/10 for the most part

321 right here, also got mad love for tha 561, 305 (not the ciggs yuck), and tha 904.

and i think florida is the best place to grow, its all tropical and sub-tropical with only like 12% of the state being temperate. plus the land is all flat and shit
