and that's how I really feel.

So I just emptied out the closet I'd intended to put my grow in. I then went to Lowes and got all the stuff needed to add 2 20amp breakers to my breaker box in order to get electricity to where I want my grow.

I fucking live in a split level house. The attic that the electricity goes into is not the attic that the closet has above it and I can't find where they feed the electricity, it's all buried under 2 feet of blown in insulation and I can barely find the studs to walk on in order to find the end of the attic.

I don't want to pay an electrician several thousand dollars in order to put electricity in a closet (that would just be a bit TOO obvious) and I have a sinking feeling that there are already 10 - 15 outlets on the breaker that feeds the room, so throwing on a 1000W hid, florescents, and a fan would be a major fire hazard, I could probably do the florescents and maybe the fan without risk, but the HID would be WAY too much.

I have some more investigation to do, but I have a sinking feeling that this is going to be too much work for just me and it's not something I can really call professionals in on. Anyone have thoughts before I smoke up to forget how damned frustrated I am.

Hey man.. I was kinda in the same boat...

I decide to use 220v from an unused dryer outlet..

I got one of these boxes and used some heavy duty cable to run it to my op...

Hope this helps...

I did this a couple months ago. Had an electrican make me and extension cord from the dryer to the Sub Panel...Man did it reduce my electric bill.
House has 2, 1,000's, 1 450 MH and A/C set at 70. and pool equiptment. Bill was 194 last month.
 
Running 220v should not make your bill any cheaper... you are still using the same amount of power...

220v just splits the load into two wires... but you bulb and AC will still be using the same exact amount of power to run...

Now.. it's a hell of a lot safer than just plugging 1k's in to the wall outlet...

I bought the parts that I needed, including the cable that is as thick as a water hose..lol..

And I just plugged it in...

I love it.. one little timer for all my lights

Anybody ever dry their bud out side? it actually works good. I have been doing this lately because i don't want my place reeking of funk. I'm telling you try this out on your patio it works great, I leave them out overnight and everything.......I mean if it starts to rain i would bring them in but other wise its pretty simple :leaf::leaf::leaf:
 
I would deff. make sure they are at least in the shade...

The air circulation is great and all but the light concerns me, especially the sun...
 
You're right it's not hard at all, but you didn't mention it..

So I thought I would... No biggie...

I would just not want someone to follow without the all the info and "sun dry" their buds...lol..

Remember, us newbs copy everything we see... even if it doesn't make sense sometimes...lol...

Very nice grow MM, I can't wait for mine to start growing..... It looks like I'll be germing my Belladonna, AK47, and Northern Lights this week!!!!

The weed gods smiled on me today.. I found some AC ducting that spanned both of the attics. I ran a 4 foot length of PVC and fished the fishing string through that. I now have 1 12g wire hanging on to my floor from the upstairs attic entrance and am cooling down before I fish the second wire up through the breaker box. Good grief it's HOT in the two attics.

I think tomorrow (or late tonight) I'll fish them down the wall of my closet so I can install the outlets tomorrow and put the breakers in the breaker box. Once all that's done I only have one more trip into the attic, and that's for ventilation of the closet, I think a 6' hole will be quite manageable after this mess!!

Yay!!! My grow fantasies are back on!! The best part is I bought 500 feet of wire and it looks like I'll be able to return one of the rolls and get $50 back, that'll go towards purchasing the fan and duct work.

I'm exhausted but it looks like in 3 - 4 months I should have some seriously yummy weed.

I've ditched the hydro idea and switched the plan to using organic soils and nutes to save space in the closet, still sticking with Canna as the brand because they've got a really detailed schedule for tomatoes which I've heard translates perfectly to MJ!!

It looks like a measly $300 left and I'll have 100% of what I need for the grow, I'm only short a HPS bulb and the fan. I may drop for one of the hood covers talked about roughly 4 or 5 pages ago to keep the heat even lower in the closet, I am worried about a 1000W HPS in a room that's only 3' deep by 4' wide after I divide flower and grow rooms. I don't think I have cause to worry about the floro's in there with 440CFM of air moving out of the room.

I'm getting excited, 6 months of planning, replanning, replanning, and replanning coupled with thousands of hours of research and it looks like I finally get to utilize some of the knowledge I've gained!!!

I was thinking of cutting at the third node during veg as described somewhere on this forum to get 4 main colas per plant. I think it was growtech or another admin who said he was getting 10oz a plant off his 4 cola's. I'd be REALLY happy with 3 - 5 oz per plant in my small space, any thoughts?

Thanks to everyone on RIU and especially the Florida growers thread, you've all prevented me from making some pretty bad mistakes.

I just started Lowryder 2 x AK47 (2 are 20 days old and 4 that just came out) and Lowlife Blueberry (8 that just came out), going to try hydro since I never did hydro before. Just started a journal on them, check it out, posted some pics, nothing big or special since they just started.

Yep,It really sucks around here.And i do not know to many of the kids around my place(seems like they have all the good bud now)
