Flouro Lighting Question

I have a veg room running 2 x 400w MH and a flowering room that I just built running 2 x 600w HPS.

I'm wanting to create an area for seedlings and clones and I'm wondering if a simple flouro light will work. I have 4ft. light that holds two bulbs. Right now it has 2 25w Cool White bulbs.

Is this going to do me any good or should I try something else? Just trying to make due with what I have without purchasing another light.

If this does indeed work anyone have any idea of what types of bulbs to use?

It will work perfect. if its t8 lighting its more efficient than mh. 27 watt t8 6500k=2700lumens and cri 93

Are these bulbs available at a Walmart or Home Depot? Also, should they work in my standard flouro shop light? If so, I'm stoked I've already invested a small fortune I just want to see if I can save a few cents toward the end.

If they are t8 they are available everywhere. it'll say on the bulb. Also i just found out by accident that the t8 aquarium bulbs that are actinic 420nm grow small plants much faster than the standard 6500k white bulbs. I have 2 rows of 5 plants with 54 watts of t5ho 6500k over 1 row and the 2 t8 27 watt bulbs over the other five and the actinic plants had to be switched to the other side after 24 hours because they were taking over the other 5. had to even them out. this was over 24 hours

T12 just means that it is 1 inch plus a half in dia. t8 means 1 inch dia. t5 means 5/8 dia. t 12 are less efficient but they'll work. you wont find as many bulbs for them any more. But it will start your clones. They are noticably less bright as t8 though. you can get a double 48 inch t8 fixture with 2 daylight bulbs for 40 bucks at home depot. might be worth it. t8 are very efficient. 100 lumens per watt with a high par and cri rating.
