we actually have one of those repti glos in our closet grow right now and the plant seems to love it. we are total first timers and every day we check the closet the plant seems to grow towards that bulb. They have been in there for quite a while now and she's healty as ever. Im very interested to see how my bubba kush baby turns out.

The none UVB lamps emit a tiny amount, they generate it and it's used to optically pump the phosphor coating on the bulb into emitting visible light.

The second part about the number required to emulate the sun is only true in terms of visible light. Fluorescents can easily release similar amounts of UVB.

Ten minutes under a set of high power, high efficiency UV fluorescents will burn you.

Being a first time grower I would be very careful with the repti lights cuz you can burn the shit out of your plants. I've seen many growers burn their girls by getting to close to those lights or leaving them on for too long but they totally works
