I guess. I started reading on the left and couldn't figure out what tumors in mice had to do with anything :bigjoint:

I'm really not inclined to believe that feeding vitamin C will cause an increase of 35-75% in dry weight despite those alleged results from a 1935 paper. There isn't any peer review either. One would think that if there was any validity to it that it would be a practice used all around the world.

yeah, i wasn't sure about it's validity either. but if true, it's kinda amazing.

I mean I bought the stuff last year 20$ for the little container , have used may 1/4th of the container in a year, not sure if it helps. but I went from soil to hempy bucket. so I would say it's the hempy that increased the yield and/or better genetics, im more inclined the FF doesn't do anything I just found it to be a similar ratio to using Kool bloom . I don't feed FF to my soil plants it actually nukes them abit. but in hempy a couple large spikes *may* help. could be in my head, I've gotta better results from anything by switching breeder and pheno, never my food.

I know that cannabis and tens of thousands of other plant species were growing just fine for tens of thousands of years without the need for snake oil products containing vitamins and amino acids.

And yes I know what plants need. That's why I grow healthy plants from start to finish and not just cannabis. I grow vegetables, flowers, and all kinds of plants and have been for decades long before guys like you decided to grow a plant for the first time and then bought into all the cannabis specific marketing bull crap. All without the need to give them what they make on their own. Other than growing indoors under lights I treat cannabis like any other plant. I feed it what it wants and let it grow. No unnecessary crap targeted at naive cannabis growers.

Just like my vegetables and flowers my cannabis grows lush and healthy from start to finish. So keep on trolling but as far as this worthless thread is concerned I'm rolling on out.

Nice Heirlooms, some of my favorite tomatoes! :D

I use ascorbic acid as a chlorine remover, it works great and the plants seem to like it.

yep, i've used it before when i over-shocked our well a few years ago.
does it really increase flower mass like the study seems to suggest is what i'd like to find out

there are people who are using it successfully for rooting clones:

there is scientific paper from 2014 on testing foliar feed of 200ppm on wheat, which improved mass and yield and helped overcome problems with drought, to 400ppm from another paper that showed even bigger improvenment (title can be found in citations, paper is published online, i think one is enough for proof):

i wonder how his dank nugs are.
Making biomass and making trichomes are 2 different processes... Paper i published shows improved biomass even with regular watering... Since you dont know about the difference between these 2 processes, ill give you a hint so you can google: it involves making plant stressed so it gets frostier... I hope someone will test this out... It may prove benefitial enough for protection of plant using more of HST (thats high stress training for you gondo, as i wrote, to get more trichomes) techniques, esp ones involving rapid changes in environment...

but vit C is also an anti-oxidant which helps protect plants FROM stress. so stressing a plant and then providing the plant with an anti-stressor should negate each other.

thats what i ment, if you have a plant that can take certain ammount of stress, giving her antistressor will make her take more stress (and achieve more SAR response afaiu) without being damaged beyond repair... will you try this yourself? will you post results here?

i have some vit C tablets but they have other crap in them like rose hips, etc. is there such a thing as liquid ascorbic acid? the study from 1935 said they use 40 mg of ASA in their experiment.
i'd have to do a side by side to really see if there is a difference which i'm not really set up for. i'd have to do all or nothing

no, it comes only in form of powder... you can google ppm to mg in ro or something like that... yea, its hard to give up a plant you want to smoke, but who knows, maybe it becomes new thing, maybe it ends up here:

=)

anyways, happy growing mate and thanks for the info...

yeah, you are correct. i re-read that study and it said 40mg in crystalline form.
i might just try this out next run. worst it could do is probably drop my pH low. don't think it would mess up the plants.

hmmm, it will definetly lower your ph if youre going that route... ill try to find something useful on interaction with hydro nutes... maybe you should try to mix a bit in some pot and add vit c to it, to see will it react badly with your mixture...
