Flower stage advice needed

Logan is correct. I have left 40 gallon res for over 20 days. It had algae in it and everything. pH was fine and I just topped off with water until the ppms read 1100 then changed. Not suggesting you do this but changing every 3 days is unnecessary and extra work!

But what doesn't make sense is every 3 days was how long it took for my PH to drift from 5.5 to 6.2 if im.gunna carry the bucket to the Bathroom just figured might as well do a full change

It's really an issue of personal preference I suppose...but just wanted you to know, you can wait longer than 3 days if you'd like. And it is best to avoid using PH up/down as much as you can. But, if my hunch is right, you'll start seeing your PH fall rather than rise in flowering...thats how it usually works with me. If changing it every 3 days is working and your nutes aren't expensive though, by all means, keep on keepin' on :)

Me too...nothing's wrong with that either...just a matter of preference. I'd always add a little bit of nutes if my ppm's were low enough to adjust my PH in veggy...then in flower, I'd use silica to raise the PH unless it needed to be raised more than like .1 or .2. The more PH adjuster you use, generally speaking, is the sooner a rez change will help with the balance of elements in your nute solution...Don't be surprised if/when your PH drops slightly though. So far, every grow I've done in DWC the ph would drop, as long as it doesn't drop drastically then everything is good. .1 or .2 a day I wouldn't worry over.

ive found that my plant is taking the most nutes and growing best after day 6 or 7. i change my rez day 12 or 13. just monitor ph every morning and adjust accordingly. also keep in mind that in early veg stage u are using less nutes, which makes ph swing haopen, once u are up to full strenght most a and b part nutes will be PH stable.

i have never had my ph drop, only go up. im curious as to what nutes your running?

I've had this happen each time, one time using Advanced Nutrients Sensi PH Perfect; dissatisfied with the results, so I switched over the GH Floranova for my last go at DWC and I got fantastic results, however, my ph still rose during veggy and dropped, ever so slightly, in flower. Maybe .1-.2 a day. I found that if I backed off the heavy feeding, the pH would drop only around .1 every other day though...I believe I encounter this in flower because this is the highest ppm stage of the plant's life. I don't think it's nute specific tho...happened with both AN and GH.

ive read that in flower you shouldnt shove too much nutes down plants throat... i just flipped to flower 4 days ago and am running around 900 ppm, do u think i should go higher? im use flora duo, flora blend, cal mag, silica and hydro guard all around 75% of GH feeding schedule

also... i want to get some liquid kool bloom, do u think its necessary? i was told by long time grower not to use KB until u have some established flowers, like week 2 or 3

I actually base res changes sometimes on PH dropping, it be a slow steady rise then will start to drop off rapidly, EC starts to rise fairly quickly as well. I'm usually changing due to water level but if not the res seems to behave as stated.

That is correct. Wait until your plant isn't just preflowering; but actually flowering. Sometimes you have to back off of your primary nutes late in flower when you're giving higher doses of the liquid and especially the powder KB (Powder KB is for the last week or two before flush, Liquid is more of a bulking agent to increase weight in early-mid stages of flower). There is a thread about the relation of PPM, PH, and the water. If I can find the link somewhere; it is an excellent guide to understanding what your plant is telling you...
