Flower time

Hi Everyone,

This is my first grow and I just switched my lighting to 12/12 a couple of days ago. I’m growing a Northern Lights, Nightingale, and 2 Candida.

The Northern Lights is supposed to flower in 8 weeks and the others are 9 weeks.

I’m just wondering from everyone’s experience, how close to these stated times have you found your plants to actually flower in?

I just received my work schedule for next year and will now be out of town for 1 week right when the northern lights is supposed to finish flowering.
Can I wait that extra week before harvesting or will that negatively effect the outcome?

Should be fine who knows though right. You in dirt? dirt is slower than a hydro grow so it might not be ready right at the 8 week mark. You could flip back to veg easy enough for about ten days then flip to flower.

Myself I feel that the flower times breeders put on them or whoever are people that can grow a plant without a single hiccup or anything to negatively effect the performance of the plant.

I think I will flip the lighting back to veg for 10 days like you suggested. I only flipped to flower on Tuesday.

The idea of "time" as listed in any breeders reports.....VERY few match that!

As general rule - add 2 weeks.
I find that the biggest problem that most do but, don't know it, or understand it.
Is that they harvested to early....It's like a disease to novice growers. All that expectation and excitement...

BE PATIENT! Time is your friend, not your enemy!

Learning just what "done" really is. Is a big learning curve......
Run longer then it says, Run longer then you think (at this experience level)..

I just check my with a lens when ready I harvest hell I can plant 10 of the same plants the same day they are never all ready at the same time to harvest

Seed companies usually predict finishing times assuming perfect conditions. It is also in their best interest to lowball flower time. I'm sure an extra week won't have any negative affects.
