ok so my sativa is taking forever and i am fine with it the only thing i have a question about is: If some of the buds lower on the plant flower and are ready to be picked sooner than the top should i snip them off or what for the main stock to continue to flower until it looks like the lower buds?
good question? ill take some pics in the next couple days.

Sure, you could do that. But I believe in most cases, the buds up on top mature quicker than the ones on the bottom. What are you using to see how mature your buds are? I reccomend a 30X microscope, and look for those trichomes. I harvest my sativas when most of the trichomes are cloudy, with a few amber. I don't like to let them go all the way to 20% amber because I don't enjoy the heavy body stone as much as some do. Different strokes I suppose!

yeah im only using the naked eye to judged but for some reason the bottom buds are maturing quicker. i have a 70 watt hps atop then two 24 watt cfls to light the sides all in an enclosed chamber with vents and air circulation. first grow so i cant expect much since im really only growing for fun but am getting a little too into it maybe. anyways ill post some pics soon. coudl the main stock be too far away from the top light? its prob 14 inches away then the cfl's are about 2" away. only watering with one gallon of distilled and 2 tbs epsom to balance ph.

Id say your cfl's at the side are whats causing it, less heat more of the colour spectrum required.. specially if your hps is 14" above tops. No problem really though as mentioned before, prune the bottom mature buds off and allow more time for the plant to work on the tops.

^^as alexio said, and if those lower buds are ready you can harvest them surly, this will free up a bit power for the plant to put into the top ones too;)
