flowering on vacation?

I am planning on taking a weekend to visit Austin maybe this month, but maybe after the holidays.. whatever the case, my girl is flowering and has been since the beginning of November. My question here is, will she be okay if I leave her in the darkness for this entire weekend? (2-3 days) I plan on following the guide I found in November 2007's issue of High Times (the harvest special), but I'm not sure when she'll be ripe so I have no idea when to flush her soil, I'm assuming she'll be ready sometime in January or February. I hope it's before February because I would really like to share some of my homegrown with a friend that is visiting in February.

The strain is unknown to me, I got this seed by some miracle out of some hydro I bought. She sprouted somewhere in the beginning of August.

Since I'm a newb any and all info is greatly appreciated, I would like my first harvest to go smoothly and I'm hoping to maximize potency.

Thats a very healthy plant you have there and yes a weekend in the dark will be fine if you have to but why cant you just live it in the grow area with a timer for the lights. If you leave her in the dark for a few days most likely shell be droopy when you get back but she'll perk back up right away. when you turn the lights on. Good luck hoop this helps

my lamp doesn't have a timer or else I wouldn't be asking xD is there somewhere I can get one for cheap? having to turn the light on and off manually every day and night is obnoxious. I love the lamp I have, so if I got a timer for the outlet that would be awesome.

what rolln said and also it might be close to finish if its an indica by 7-8 weeks of flowering and if thats the case you could leave it in the dark while your gone and it might be good to chop when you get back.

timers are $11 at lowes or home depot. You just plug your lamp into the timer and the timer into the outlet.

I'm assuming it's a hybrid the leaves started out fat but the newer ones are skinnier, I found some timers on amazon I'm going to look into and possibly order one tonight, thanks! Any idea on when I should flush the soil? any indicators I should look out for?

get a good scope/ microscope i usually start flushing when a few trichromes become cloudy

I think I may get this timer, though it says I can have up to two on/off settings, which I only need one obviously.. does anyone know if I can disable the second one somehow? I've never used these kind of timers.

yeah that will work fine those pins that turn it on and off are removable

I just picked up a digital timer for my 400w HPS. paid about 9$ at my local supermarket. It even allows you to have a daily program (set on/off times) or up to 20 different programs so you can do different times on different days of the week (not that I would).

I'm facing the EXACT same dilemma as you since my babies will go into flowering in about a week and I'll be away for the weekend right after Xmas.

I figured with a digital timer and feeding them right before I leave would reduce any possible harm to the plants.

just a thought, and I'm laughing at the idea too, but I wonder if my camera will make up for me not having or wanting to buy a scope..

have a timer and some water supply thingy, i heard aqua globes are ok

for two or three days I think she'll be fine on water as long as I water her before I leave, this soil tends to hold water pretty well and I find myself watering maybe once a week (I stick my finger into the soil if it's still moist I leave it til it's dry)
