Flowering plant without fan leaves

Alright so I have some sativa dominant ladies flowering for 5-6 weeks now and most of the fan leaves have yellowed and a little more than half of them fell off. Almost to the top now. Can a plant survive without fan leaves and still produce buds? Am I gonna run into trouble considering I could have another 5 weeks of flowering since they are sativa? Or will little leaves provide enough food for them?

I have had some plants in one of my first cycles that had some leaf issues and almost had none when it was done( no fan leafs just small bud leaf). The fan leafs are like your lungs how much can you do without them or only half your lung compacity(imagine having only one lung instead of two)? They will be able to give you a small yield but dont expect anything incredible also potency will be effected.

And to answer your question.... NO you can get a good yield without any fan leaves. MOst people don't understand that leaves are more important than light.

What?? You kinda contradicted what you said.

I dunno about under feeding, but is the plant growing at all? To me it sounds like you might have locked out the nutrients. So the plant is using all the nutrients in the leafs to survive. I believe when that happens the leafs disappear bottom up.

are you in soil or hydro? If in soil how frequently are you feeding? If in hydro, how much grow micro and flower are you giving it? Also about how long are you into growing it?

They are 5 weeks into flower... so they arent growing but the buds are developing nicely. In soil, I water twice a week and feed every other watering. So I feed once a week basically.

you should be OK if you see bud development still. Your feeding schedule seems OK just as long as you aren't giving it too much nutrients at the feeding. I've never grown in soil before so I'm not sure how much is OK and what is excessive.

Worst thing that can happen is that you don't get as much bud as you should have.

I go with half dosage on nutes. I mean the buds are developing nicely prob got an ounce on each plant at week 5. For sativas I think thats pretty good at this stage but I wanna be able to get the most out of my ladies.

based on my personal exprience, without leaves (i dont feed her with nitrogen at first week of flowering, my mistake) only grow buds, i found it have less of THC, after that i decided to start to feed my ladies plant with nitrogen to keep foliage green...and got pretty good THC off from that...i learned the hard way, sativa have long long long flowering time than indica strains...but the best help you can get is post pictures in here, the pictures is gold than your word, bro.
