Flowering Question

How long does it usually show the preflowers on females and also the white hairs of buds. I just changed to flowering lighting and was wondering its a little less then week just curious.

Hey, well it depends on the strain so if your less then one week, wait for one more week until you get either some preflowering action or pistils/whitehairs growing increasing more everyday, which is enough to almost watch lol. What strain you working with and what light instensity are you distributing over your garden?

i kinda have a little of everything i have purple sour deseil, sage and sour, grape ape, and black domina, all under a 400MH cause i dont have the money to buy a conversionn bulb, and i read that they can make the bud more potent.

Well it's up 2 you to buy a conversion system, but why not increase your yeild well decreasing time- you can do this by vegging your favoirt strains under low lighting inturn this allows you to increase more electrical consumption relating to flower power!
So in your case by a 400MH veg/flower bulb, this will cost you around $119, your better off saving a bit and buying a 600HPS ($250) and use your 400MH for VEG. Trust me the 600HPS Will increase yeild DRAMATICLY and you will be very very happy you went that way. My other question is, are you worried about power consumption??? If so i have a great alternative!
For your strains that you have chosen', give them 8weeks! I dont care what anyone else say's! Eight weeks is the Ideal time and if you place under a 600HPS with opt conditions go 7weeks! but thats usually at a production level ex) taking humidity, light intensity, intake/out, nutrent, pH, CO2, root temp must stay consistant, anylarge flux can set back time, mold, bugs etc... Stick to 8 weeks flower and 3 weeks veg under your 400MH!

yah what does your setup up look like? Besides the MH i also have six CFL(2=42w, and 426w)as side lighting. they are all warm in coloring 2700k i think. I'm hoping this will provide some red spectrum lighting. I dont think i ave the room for a 600w i was thinking about it but my grow space is pretty small about 2x2x6'5'' so i dont know if its practical. plus this is only my first grow so its pretty much a test run. ill put picks up in the morning( their asleep lol). And power consupmtion isnt a issue as of right now.

Well your MH is almost 2 big for your 2X2 but lol it works, as long as u can vent that heat. The good thing is the MH does not produce very much. The sidelighting will help, you can get your plants 2Inchs from the CFL, if you go closer its a little tosty on the plants, you may not feel the differnece but the plant leaf can! Heres some pics of my grow show, but ill write you back soon with some good info, since this is your first time!!!! Check these out.

How big of potting cantanters are you going to use and whats the number of plants?? Also what bag of soil did you choose and what are your nutrients that you decided to go with, including brand name please ex) GH, etc Little details like that will help. So from your original post I undestand that your plants are 4weeks old?

They look healthy Are those two bulbs your extra lighting? Cerious how long did you veg for? Looking good though For some reason I though u were in Soil, but for your amount of space, hydroponics seems to work 2

thats just some of the extra lighting i figured that later in the flowering i would put up the resrt of the cfls. I only vegged for about 3 weeks on a 18/6 light schedule. Any other pointers for helping me through the flowering process. I have them on 1/2 strength PBP bloom along with cal mag, and liquid karma. The PH is right around 5.8 so i think im doing alright, but if you have any other ideas let me know. thanks!

Look good.. I would say pH 5.6Flower andd would say on the last 14days flush with pure water only!!! Its ok let your plants fall apart by cannabalism! I fist liked the Idea of pH at 5.8 but I keeped seeing better results lower I went. Dont go lower then 5.4! I would Also think about running H202 in your system, becuase it will clean out any bacteria/root/alga, anything that isn't pure lol.. It' also release it's extra 02 molocule and addeds oxygen into your system.. Replace every second days with h202.. It can be expensive becuase it is hard to manufacuter! BTW do not let touch hands, i did and fuck it burned when I layed my weight on my hand after catching myself from falling over when watering!!!! When i streched my hand i really noticed the bleaching in my hand and it burned! So be carefull!
I dont use your line of product and I try to keep it mostly simple! I use a product thats made here in B.C Canada, 3part and it works WELL! I also use it's Gurrilla bud flower booster!. If I have troubles or anysigns stop with your nuturents and use epson salts for a couple days then go back on your nuturents! this is very vag info, Keep doing what your doing, but fine tune your system!! maye go little smaller pots and increase air intake, and maybe run the same PPM you wre running at but drop pH a little to watch the response!! Or try using double bucket system.. Thats what im focusing on. GOnna get it 100%right soon lol.... I use a 30Gallon Res with 5Gallon fresh ph Adjusted water for my auto top up, 24inch worth of air and then I used my double bucket system with 6inch net baskets and hydroton. I top feed 2lines in, (put them on timmers-15mins on and 1hour off-24/7) Then run your buckets 1/3deep and make sure u have termendous amounts of air in, and NO light, make sure NO light can get in!!!!!!!!!
Run low PPM around 600 adn pH5.6 then add h202. once a week add SM-90 if you want(if you want) or use it as a foiler spray(once ever 3days at most) but go research Dutch master for foiler spray!!!!
Once last thing.. I would go individual buckets instead of bin! You can create 3 nice plants under your growing room. but then again if done right with a good strain, u might only want 1 or 2 plants under your 400MH 2X2X6 Your MH is good for 4X4 and no more, unless your VEG.
Let me know more about how u work your system and maybe pictuyres of your root system would be nice, hey!! Ill send you pcitures of my first root system done under my DWC system and you will laugh. ill just post them anyways lol.

thanks il keep you posted as things progress. I just noticed that the black domina is starting its bud sites which is really exciting and i have seen white hairs on all four plants. It will be one week today so i think that they are doing decent ill get you a pic of the root system tomorrow. Thanks again for anything

So heres some more pics of the ladies(which they all are the white hairs are starting to come out which is really exciting.) And i have a pretty good root ball. I will try separate buckets next time depending on how this one goes. I have Hydroplex which is botanicares bloom booster( when should i start adding that), and have added another fan to the equation to hel with circulation.

Looks good.. Try to seperate them into 2 1/2 gallon or 5 gallon containers and add lots of oxygen!!! I found adding 8inchs worth of airstones works best in 5gallons. Anything less is not as effiencnt in my experiance! wHen you add a bloom booster, usually wait til the hairs start, or after 1 or 2 weeks, depending on your booster. I dont use it that so Im not sure.. If i had no way finding out, I would start now in your case.
Just remember when you add a bloom booster to your feed program, you should try and accomidate for the increase in PPM when added! So if your origanl Flowering feed was 900ppm, and you add a buster with boost 200ppm, thats 1100ppm. IS that acceptiable for you strain? and would that cause a lock out? I only had problesm with my plants when i pushed ppm near 1000 in Hydroponics.
If you go into two seperate 5gallons, eaitehr continue doing your freshwater top off like your doing now, or add a 5gallon res if you go 4 plants in a 5gallon system, add a 20g res, and a 5gallon freshwater floatvelve system. I did that and it worked really really well.. In 4 days my plants used my 5gallon freshwater bucket, and there was no light exposing to my watering system!
But i locked out my last go at it, and outdoor growing is soon, so I have noooo space anymore.
Goona take down computer and buy laptop and use this room lol- theres a 70-30chance im gonna do it!! Ill post a pic of my new outdoor set up.
