flowering stages

Hi All,

My plant is 5 days into flowering - can someone please tells me the stages the plants go through. i.e at what point will i expect to see bud formations - and at how many weeks are they growing the most bud.

Should i fertilise with big bloom now when they have little flowers or when buds are appearing.

Im using CFLS - warm white x 4 of them 28 watts. Any suggestion on an alternative to a 400 hid as i am only growing one plant at a time - i.e will a 250 watt HID work - is there such a thing?

You plant will be a seedling until you get 3 sets of leaves.
Then you will be in the vegetation state. This is when the plant grows and builds it's structure. I prefer 18 on 6 off for veg.
You want to veg your plants until they are atleast 12" tall before you go into flowering (budding) 12on /12off.
Within the 1st 2 weeks of flowering you should see signs of sex.
From the time you start 12/12 it should take around 60 days for buds to mature enough to harvest. Maybee longer depending on strain

If you have not went to newbie central and introduced your self go ahead and do so.

Mid grade - thanx for replying - no offense BUT you have not answered my questions - i know about flowering and how long it takes to flower .

And its not in FAQ what i am asking....anyone else have advice on the above?

well mine are at 5 weeks and all i see are the long white hairs when do i get buds ????? EVER???

Be patient. It won't be too long until you see more recognisable buds. The base of the area where the hairs (pistils) grow from will begin to fatten up soon. This is the buds forming. Exactly how long it will take is strain-dependent.

Yes, 250w HPS lights exist, and are readily available at hydro stores everywhere. They work just fine for small grows, and will be far superior to your current lighting. You can also get 150w (and smaller) HIDs, but go for the 250 if you can accomodate it. You won't be sorry with the results.

please can you tell me when lights are out while flowering stage in my tent growing cheese should i leave my intake on with exhaust because when i close up tent so no light gets in if no air pumps in when exhaust on is this ok

@damo: leave the exhaust on at night or PM WILL COME!!!

@green the great: I wouldn't give them the big bid until later on... Read the label and it should say roughly what weeks to use it
