Ok so let's get to the bottom of this. I always count day one from the first day I flip to 12. Now I hear all kinds of other people saying different. Like no you wait a week for then to really start flowering then you say day one. I know how I feel just wanted to get some other people's feed back.

when a breeder gives a harvest window they are describing a very well controlled grow space
given golden care daily providing every needed resource in a timely manner. They speak of flowering days
as the amount of days the plant is actually flowering, not the days a light changed schedules.
9/10 times plants finish within the days my breeders say they will, not that I count on it until familiar but
thats when I begin looking into trichomes and their cloud with new genetics, incidentally they most often finish within breeder specs in my space finally. didnt used to, spent more coin, now they do.....go figure....

I disagree. so I come upon a plant with no indication of flowering outdoors yet I can say she is in flower because the days are shorter now? nope. the plant is in flower when its actually in the flowering cycle I believe.
likely why many plants are said to need "a couple more weeks" when growers ask, because they too began counting the day light changed, and using breeder suggestions.
it could take weeks for the flower to begin its actual flowering cycle, then its said to be flowering and not before, how could a plant be said to be flowering when it is not? so there:eyesmoke::bigjoint:

True., This is actually because the plant have to transition from veg hormones to flowering hormones to actually start flowering.,. That's the reason i personally start counting when i see pistils all over..

if some one says, i flipped my plants to 12/12, they may still be vegging, but in indoor growing,"they are in flower" it's just a saying. We all know the actual day numbers doesn't matter, the plants finished when it's finished

Yes indeed. Check the trichomes. I was just trying to.get to the bottom of something that seems different to a lot of people

after I perfected my controls my plants now are solid cloudy on the days the breeder says, thats where this comes from. it was hit or miss prior. and is consistent with recording flip day vs sighted pistils. I'd say give it a try if you can.

imagine the variables. grow space conditions are all over the map. many begin growing from the bottom up,
no controls, no consistency, maybe get lucky, then report some anecdotal myth.
in rooms that are the same, with the same controls and resources results are very much indistinguishable in my experience.

I don't count anymore cause i use the free grow software here and it does it for me LOL. I am too high too often and too disorganized to keep up with all my sticky notes bongsmilie

Good question. Even without going to 12/12 plants will flower on their own. We flip to 12/12 to force the plant to flower. Without adjusting the lights you may have taller scrawnier plants. Flipping allows us to better control the size of the plant and gives us better control over timing for harvest.
