The garden is starting to wake up although it's still cold here.
Anemones
Late Daffodils n tulips
Espaleired Apple tree
I've lots of lillies appearing too.
And they're being attacked by the red Lily beetles already.
I'm at WAR with the feckers lol.
They can totally decimate the lillies if left unchecked.
Like the lily equivalent of red spider mite.
I've killed about 40 so far. I check plants several times a day.
Bastards.

here is the difference of that little ice plant in the SUN!Some more succulent porn. I love these little red ice plants (we have several varieties) - they get super radiant in direct sun and close up like this at night.View attachment 5285359

Another ice plant species. We have them growing naturally all over the place and if someone in the neighborhood likes them I just rip a 2x2 section out and give it to them in a cardboard box.
these are truly drought resistant.never water them, even in those 8 years we didn’t have hardly any rain in CA - these things did just fine.

Took a twilight picture of the monster sunflowers. House Finches and other birds are quite happy with them.

What am I doing wrong? I am in NCA (Benecia/Martinez/Rodeo). RU similar to this climate?
