Flush before staggered harvest?

should i flush before just harvesting my top colas and then resume nutes after the tops a chopped? or is it cool to just chop the tops while they're still feeding

They should be flushed. there is a thread on staggered harvest. you can flush, chop whats done, feed the rest then flush it again. i believe it takes 3 weeks or so to finish popcorn or lower buds.

should you flush for the normal amount of time? about a week? or would that be to much and mature the entire plant

well flushing should be started ahead of time, preferable 2-3 weeks. i flood my soil and allow the excess to drain out the pot, let the soil dry out (usually 5-6 days), then water them again with the amount you normally would, then let the soil dry out (chop anytime after 2nd water, i usually wait until the soil drys out). Feed the rest of the plant with some weaker nuts as it will probably be at most half the size it was, then flush it again. this is just my method, I've had good success so far
