Flushing and the use of Ripen Solution ?

Hello guys,

I have only been doing this for a few months and am having alot of fun with it so far everything is going great am controlling my heat problems with a max temp of 25 C going down to 15 C as a min is this ok i hope so.

The plants are looking good and i get a feel i'm about two weeks away from end of cycle i will post up some pictures to let you express opinions which i would appreciate,

my questions are about flushing,

Do you need a flushing agent or is just plain water is good enough?

and this may sound daft but do you PH the water down when your flushing ?

my second question is about the solution ripen can anyone give me there views on this stuff, should i use it ?

some people say its a good thing to use and i hear others say it speeds up the ripen process and then others say it is only to be used to finish the cycle early for various reasons normally if your having problems as by using it, it makes the plant lose vital size and weight ?

should i just let the plant run its natural course towards the end or is there anything else you guys use in the last two weeks ?

as always thanks for any replies on this,

(Sorry about the pics i will try again when the light goes out should be clearer)

I don't like to open new topic's hopefully i will get some feedback soon on the questions asked in the meantime i have been serching and reading up on topic's within the forum and read an interesting one which states if you ramp up the dark periods to 14 hours when flowering it will induce the plant to mature quicker and finish by 36 days this from the start of flowering i understand.

This again is a link to question to what i have asked with regard to ripen solutions above which i understand again speeds up the process to ripen and mature the crop early.

So the question here is, Is it better to use Ripen to finish early or use the adjustments of light to force an early finish ?

The original person whose thread i read uses the light reduction as a kind of normal factor towards the last two weeks with dark periods of 14 hours to end as like to a genuine outdoor evironment condition a plant would experience and so views it as a positive thing to do.

I'm just a little bit mixed up on the way foward at this point,

However just for the record i have increased my dark period by an hour to 13 hours....and will again to 14 hours in a weeks time by which stage it will be my 6 weeks of flowering point.

So here's where I'm at after moving to flowering stage...''

4 weeks of light 12/12 Dark

Fifth week of light 11/13 Dark

Sixth week of light 10/14 Dark

Good bad ??

Flushing agents are good. I like to flush down to 1.7-1.8 EC and maintain the ph at 5.5-5.7. If you don't have a flushing agent, plain water will do the job.

During the FLOWERING PHASE, 12 hours of uninterrupted light stimulates the production of budding sites for the flowers. The light is left on 12 hours a day till plants are harvested. I've had great yeild maintain 12hrs of uninterrupted light.

Here is my lighting schedule from beginning to end....

LIGHT CYCLE CHART FOR FLOWERING

DAY HOURS ON HOURS OFF

1 24 0
2 23.5 .5
3 23 1
4 22.5 1.5
5 22 2
6 21.5 2.5
7 21 3
8 20.5 3.5
9 20 4
10 19.5 4.5
11 19 5
12 18.5 5.5
13 18 6
14 17.5 6.5
15 17 7
16 16.5 7.5
17 16 8
18 15.5 8.5
19 15 9
20 14.5 9.5
21 14 10
22 13.5 10.5
23 13 11
24 12.5 11.5
25 12 12
I cannot stress enough that during the FLOWERING PHASE, the dark period should not be violated by any light. It delays flower development and promotes leaf growth. If you must work on the plants during this time, allow only as much light as a VERY pale moon can provide for less than 5 minutes.

Hope that helps you.

From what ive read your right about Maturing quicker but everything also says it will reduce your yield? Does waiting another 2 weeks really matter? you have waited almost 4 months anyway? feed em molassas and fatten em up for those extra 2 weeks. your call

Plain water will do the trick. A flushing agent will rinse it out better.
I grow them under 24hrs of light and then switch to 12x12 to flower. Too much bullshit messing with the lights that much. Its enough work just watering them every few days and careing for there other needs.
