just flushed my plants, but i think i did it too early, i dont want a nasty smoke/taste of chemicals,

i think i did it too early because my plants hairs are young and white, someone told me to flush 1 week before harvesting, i have 2 and half weeks to go till harvest time

should re feed nutes such as phosphate and potassium ?

Flush in RO water for 24 hours after the chop. It does a way better job and you don't gotta screw with your plants while they're still growing. I don't know how big your plants are but I find the average plant without the roots will suck up about .5 litres of RO water in 24 hours. Pouring water through a nutrient rich medium will not solve the problem.

I'm interested in what your saying. Can you explain a little more. Are you cutting and placing the stem in water? As far as flushing soil you need to put 3 times the amount water vs the amount of soil. 1 gal pot need 3 gal water.

Yes, I cut them as usual and put the stem in the RO water. If you choose to do this in the budding room "like" I do just take care that they don't go dry while the hps is on.

Chuck is a lost cause. If he actually grew mj he'd know better by now.

a lost cause is someone who chops off the roots, sticks there plant in water and thinks it will flush out nutes.

LOL This is why I love RIU.. IMO you should feed another couple weeks before you even think about flushing.. Your pistils are still snow white ya dig? No harm done with continuing your feeding schedule. Good luck with whatever you do player.

Any time I see white hairs sticking straight up, and an OP like this asking question....
I always think... ahhhhh how newbie....

Listen UP---> Yes YOU Newbie... it's ok... now learn...
White hairs on top cola of bud... --> Your plant [and every other newbie's]
Will stop growing and popping out... STOP Growing of white hairs... wait for that...
Then after they stop growing...
The top cola hairs will all recede back into bud...
That's when your [healthy plant] makes buds that fatten up... white hairs growing = bud getting fatter...
Got that?
Then after all the hairs recede back into bud... then you can flush if you must...
I don't flush ever... To each his own.....

Newbie: If you think you see 'Amber' Trichomes before your top cola's hairs recede back into bud... YOU HAVE DAMAGED and Degraded Bud...
If you wait for the top cola's hairs to recede, plant will be in the prime window of harvest....

Good Luck with the wait...

If your growing organic flushing is impossible and pointless
This is what I've never understood about the whole flushing thing. Most people here hold the opinion that soil grown organics is the best way to grow a plant. Like you said, its impossible to flush since the soil keeps producing the nutrients the plants need.

So why do people think its a good idea to flush plants (essentially not giving them proper nutrients) the last 2 weeks when that is the time they really bulk up. The nutes do not build up in the leaves and cause a bad taste.

Honestly I have been around growers since I was a lad and they all flushed.
So for me it was just something I accepted without question.
It took a while to beat it out of me.
