Guys some airlines now allow you to fly with your meds, simply fill out the paperwork at the counter and board the aircraft. Your bags will only go through security devices at the point of departure, not at every stop or when you de-plane. Just do the paperwork, check your bags, claim them at the arrival destination and leave.
I worked for 20 years for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller and Airport Manager. Do not smuggle them on because if you get caught your in worst trouble. Just do what is expected by the airlines, follow their procedures. They are not going to notify anyone ahead to be on the lookout for you, that is not why they have you fill out paperwork. The paperwork essentially removes any penalties that could be imposed on the airline for allowing you to fly with your meds. It's not a free pass from point A to point B, but your not going to have them confiscated at the point of departure.
Now... on the return trip forget departing with your meds because NY won't allow it. So if you have extra at the time your going to leave, PM me and I'll swing by and take them off your hands for you. Hey, I'm a friendly guy and just want to help.
