Man i built this two layer box so i could move my grow from my closet to the garage. It has its ups and down. Well one of the downs is bugs. I didn't have to deal with much bugs except for a nat click here and there. But now i got these flys everywhere. I swear one time i looked in and my mkage looked black from all the flys that was on it. I kinda figured well maybe they will make the branches stronger but then man i don't want maggets and shit n my grow area. Plus last time i flowered n d garage i found one of those big ass misquitoes n my cola and it was hard as hell to pull it all out...this is gonna be worse!

citronella is plant based, and generally fine for plants...I mean don't like douse the plant in it, but having something out there wouldn't hurt..or a chem free sticky fly strip cut in pieces and hung all about...or just sticky glue traps for mice...and look around and try to figure out what is drawing them...it probably isn't the plant... pet food is a big fly yummy...so if you have any in your garage then get it sealed...also if you put your garbage in your garage you have to figure something out, but for real something is drawing the flies...try to find whatever it is and fix it so these things stop using your plant like a resort

Get yourself some neem oil, mix as suggested on the bottle, foliar spray and/or root drench (if in soil) weekly until problem resolves!

I have used citronella candles they work well for flys and mosquitoes and as missnu said plant based and should only raise co2 levels.
