can I do a light foliage spray on a daily basis , before lights out with a very diluted seagrow and Epsom salts spray as a preventative measure for nitrogen and mg deficiency ??
Seems like a pain in the ass way to avoid thinking about the root zone...can I do a light foliage spray on a daily basis , before lights out with a very diluted seagrow and Epsom salts spray as a preventative measure for nitrogen and mg deficiency ??
Na I do soil feeding too , as needed for growth I mean just as a added benefit moveSeems like a pain in the ass way to avoid thinking about the root zone...
That's very informative roger will use that advicei wouldn't. roots are designed to absorb nutrients and distribute them to the plant, leaves are designed to photosynthesize and transpire. spraying them makes transpiration harder, so part of the capillary action they use to feed themselves is missing, or at least diminished.
you can also clog the stomata, the orifices the plant uses to breath. foliar feeding is first aid, to get a deficient nutrient into the plants system quickly, it's not a thing you should do daily.
The bottoms of the leaves is where i apply the DE. Puffing from the center out and up. The plants seem ok with it, Not a lot gets on the sun facing side of the leafs. And new growth is often clear of DE as well. I also rinse off the plants about every month or so. It helps open them up for trimming as well.only if you get it on the bottoms of your leaves, which seems an unlikely place to apply it....
i'd think it would be easy to get rid of though, a good spraying with plain ph'ed water ought to get most of it off. i do spray my plants with plain water heavily, about once a month, just to get dust and stuff off of them, but the only time i foliar feed is if i have a problem i want to fix quick
Especially since diatoms range from 2-200 micrometers.if it doesn't seem to be bothering them, then keep it up.View attachment 4155927 View attachment 4155928
just remember that 50 um is 1/2000th of an inch. doesn't take a lot to plug up a 1/2000th inch opening
Thanks for all the replies @Roger A. Shrubber and @Miyagismokesif it doesn't seem to be bothering them, then keep it up.View attachment 4155927 View attachment 4155928
