Have anyone ever tried to change the color of buds or the plant in general by putting ph tested food coloring in the water?

I think you need to snip the stem when ready to harvest and put the stem in water with coloring for 24 hours back in the grow room.

Post pics if u try

Chemical absorption doesn't work that way with plants. You'll just have colored roots. The plant doesn't need it, so won't absorb it.

Havent you guys seen experiments where people water white flowers with food coloring?
The white flowers will change colors.

Go ahead and try it.

I bet it won't do anything. Marijuana is not a white flower.

You'll just needlessly raise your ppm with something your plant doesn't want or need...If it does anything, it'll fuck up your plant. don't say I didn't warn you.

would food coloring really raise the ppm? As I recall, someone that did try it had it work. With that said, I think it did fuck up the taste. If you do try it, I would only do it with a stem with popcorn buds, that way if shit goes awry like expected on the taste end, your not out to much.

I tried it ages ago before I even knew of RIU... I tried adding some Blue food colouring and all that happened is the Res. Turned into a foamy, bubbly mess ... it coloured just the roots and was a mission to clean it out after I also believe it caused root rott.. So unless you can find a more suitable coloring method then I'd give up lol, .. Ive never tried ink?!! But I am no longer interested in artificially changing the colours of the buds/ leaves ... I am more interested in bringing out the natural colours and am still researching how to do this - STELTHY :leaf:

I know this thread is old but has anyone since done anything along these lines? I took a branch off my last plant and put it in a cup of water w/ red food coloring and sure enough. Red weed. I haven't smoked any yet so all I can tell you is it looks pretty cool.
