Food dryer curing?

I'm not too sure on the cost because I got mine for free. The reason I want to use it is because i'll be curing in a spot under my house which can be sort of damp at times. I figure using the food dryer and a light fan should help the bud dry in a damp environment and also avoid mold. The only thing I am worried about is if it will dry it too fast and something go wrong with the bud like taste funny or dimish the THC yield.

well first off you dont CURE with heat, if you want to quick dry your buds then it will work but taste and potency will decrease slightly, curing involves an airtight container and no heat or light

just get a mason jar and put your buds in there to cure, and open it every few hours for the first weeks to let out moisture

I have to agree with the mason jars. Thats what we will be using... A combo of mason jars and possibly brown paper bags... Going to do some more research on the bags... My wife has done some reading on the jars and she says that's what we should use... She hasn't been wrong about anything so far! I'll try to find some more info for you on that but, I don't know if I would use that to cure bud.

After reading up a little I am definitely not going to use that dehydrator. I may use it to grab a test nug around harvest time but thats it.

I am going to go with hanging it out to dry upside down. I'll do it in the same area I flowered it and by then I'll have a nice carbon filter. So after drying it upside down for a while then you put it in the mason jars? I read you should "burp" them by opening them for an hour once a day and spin the buds that are packed lightly but not tight. Does that sound right?

Problem is there is no way I can go and open the jar for an hour and then go back and close it on a consistent basis.

peace :joint:

well you dont need a perfect hourly schedule as long as you release the moisture from the jars, like 2-4 times a day for the first week should do
