Why would you.

Remember that scene from that Arnold movie on Mars? No not the 3 titted chick, the part where his eyes exploded? That's what a vaccum does to trichs.

It blows my mind when i tell people I vaccum seal my buds, and they think I'm actually putting pressure on them. Half the people growing pot don't smoke it, trim it, bag it, cure it, i guess it's a bunch of minimum wage dispensary growers on these forums!

Just my .02 this is in mason jars and when you you vacuum the jar the buds do swell. I am looking to preserve what I have.

You won't rupture your trichomes. You are only putting on about 21" of mercury which is only about 3/4 of an atmosphere you'd need a lot more to rupture a trichome but let's ask the chemist
You should see what happens when you don’t stop at simple vacuum. All the real pros use three to five atmospheres of negative pressure. Trichs like Rice Krispies, bruh.
CN how many atmospheres would you need to rupture something as small as a trichome LOL show your work

Can’t show my work but my guess is it won’t happen below 100 psi difference and may need MUCH more.

~edit~ Atmosphere to hard vacuum only provides 15 psi. I have put dried bud under a lab-hard (less than 1 mmHg) vacuum and then inspected it. There was no change visible at 20 x magnification. No trichs exploded.
