It depends on your approach. If you're using a super soil, and don't plan on adding anything else, 8 weeks is too long to veg, but if you're using bottled nutes, or top dressing, it doesn't matter much.

Look great and you did a good job. I should say though when most people are talking about vegging long in soil they say it because they're only growing in soil and not adding anything but water. Of course in soil you can grow for any number of weeks if you're adding liquid fertilizer to it.
Are you saying there is N Toxicity due to the dark green leaves? Burnt tips?
Some leaves are shiny like wax. That's a sign of nitrogen toxicity. The heat stress is the leaves curling up like at the edges.
