i only use roots organic coco mix and i had a foreign plant pop/sprout up last week with on of my pineapple kush palnts pulled it before i could identifiy it it was a 2 leaf sprout, 99% sure it was junk in the coco growing not a contaminat i dropped in as i was trans planting clones no seeds around of any kind. and i consider roots to be the best in my opinion works the best for me explosive root growth. am looking into using blocks to save have to save somewhere so many growers hard times.

Cool Deal (WithoutAchance). I myself hate the Pressed blocks of Coco. If someone gave me a pallet of them, i would stick them away for only emergencies. First off a lot more of the Pressed Block Coco's out there are Soaked in Sea water for 6 months instead of fresh water, to save money. Second, they are just a dam pain in the ass the break up all the way. But, Hell I hate rolling quarters, so I pay to have them rolled. But one of my x-girl friends had no problem rolling them, and I had no problem allowing her to. :)

hey im getting a runoff abouth 6,4-6,5 when using bio bizz coco. tried to flush with 4,8 in just a pot with coco no plant and it came out 6,4-6,5. growing chocolope at day 12 in bloom and they seem a little pale overall, and getting a littlle yellow betveen the vains. it may be a lockout..!?

some say runoff doesent matter and someone say diffrent but if it matter how do i correct it?

btw im using canna coco a and b at 1,5 ec,rhizo, cal mag bloom(ANutes) at maximum 0,2 ec twice a week since my tap wather is 0,0 ec.

if someone has an idea it woud be helpful Thanks..!!l

I had the same trouble when useing Canna Nuts. Getting your PH to level out takes time. not just one feeding or flush. I would lower down the PH to 5.2 with just water and gi0ve them a heavy flush, then right after that feed them at 5.2 PH, then feed at normal times at 5.2 PH until you see them PH of the run o-ff at about 5.8. This will take a while. COCO is like a sponge with a zillion little micro-holes where the salts build up.
I changed over to a nutrient called Cyco. It works very well for keeping a stable PH in COCO. Cyco is made by one of the Chemical Engineers that left Advanced Nutrients. When he told some of his colleges that he was going to start produceing nutrients and compete with A.N. they said he was CYCO, so that is what he named his nutrient line.

As for Bio-bizz coco, I have never used it. But a lot of brands of coco as soaked in salt water for 6 months instead of fresh water like the high quality coco. This is why these brands of coco need to be heavily flushed and conditioned.

hey thanks for quick reply.. i have now done that but i also tryed someting else i got a sample of coco from the pot and one part coco and one and a half part demineralized water with a ph at 6,5. after setteling for to houers i poured it thru a coffe filter and cheked the water. it was 5,7 and i also tryed it on unused canna coco and that was 5,6 as it shoud be. this test comes from a canna coco video and they dident say anything abouth runoff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SMPNg1DCGE&feature=related it starts at 06:30 min

it doesent make sense to me that you shoud use weeks correcting the coco while high ph fucking with your crop if this was normal people would just stopp buying coco. but a ph at 5,8 in and a ph at 5,7 in the medium and a ph at 6,5 as runoff seems strange but i think everything is ok i hope. whats your Opinion on this? and have you tried this method? thanks for helping me i realy apreciate it....

i also found this: http://www.canna.com.au/coco_a_b_directions

When growing in cocoponics, determining the pH and EC level from the drainage water is not a true indication of the coconut substrates value. For optimal results, you are encouraged to use the 1: 1.5 extraction method. Please consult a preferred CANNA Retailer for the instructional DVD explaining this method.

does somebody know if its okay to let the canna coco nutrientmix sit for more than one day? so i dont need to mix it every day, but every third or fourth day.

Btw LDB stop misleading people and do some research before you say what people should do..!

What the hell are you talking about Bubble Nuts? I have been growing in Coco for about 7 years now. If I suggested something, then it has been proven to work on my crops. And if you had any knowledge of anything you would know the answer to your simple question.

If you have your PH go way out of wake. You go right ahead and force it to where you want it and see what happens. HAHAHAHA. You truely crack me up. I hope you have fun on that roller coaster ride. See, I have learned how to keep my substrate at the right ph during my whole grow cycle.

Don’t make rapid adjustments to either pH or ppm. Slow is good but then unless a crop duster has just sprayed your plants with agent orange, you’re gonna have time to fix things. It’s kinda like sailing across the Atlantic in a sail boat. Nothing happens fast. You wake up, find out you need to tack and then decide if you want to do it today or tomorrow, hehehe. The jet flying over you needs to make corrections in a more timely manner due to speed. We’re in a sailboat here folks. Don’t give yourself hemorrhoids trying to do things quicker than is needed.

well there you are.. yes i dont know alot about coco and its nutes sinse its my first grow with it. But it is one thing i do know after researtcing spesaly when it comes from cannas own website. yes im not 100% sure abuot the nute storing but my girls growing fine despite my ph roller coaster ride go figure....

But have you ever tryed to forget the runoff and focused on the medium ph? you may just waste alot of time flushing your plants!
and btw you dont use plain water flushing you use 1/4 strengt or minimum 0,5 ec to keep a healty biolife.

Take a look at the COIR that Hydro-Gardens sells. Come individually bagged with just the right amount: http://www.hydro-gardens.com/growing_medias.htm#EZGro
3 gallon bag with coir - $1.65 - Filling bags is rough - drop in a sprayer and let it expand....
Hydro-Gardens caters to commercial growers and greenhouses - they aren't gonna sell stuff that doesn't work.

Bubbels, have you even read this thread? Or are you just jumping in at the end? Myself, I have not flushed in a couple of years. Because I can keep the medium in the range I want. But If I feel I need to flush out some of the salts, I just give them a normal mix but more of it. But some people throw off the coco with a huge over load of salts. And keep listening to Canna and all they teach. See Canna is just another greedy corperation looking to sale anything and everything they can. Like where Canna says to use 15 ml/gallon of the A&B, when in fact is to much and causes lots of trouble in itself. Most stains like 4-5 ml/gallon, and the heavy eaters like 6 ml/gallon. This does not mean on some strain, I might not be able to feed it 10 ml/gallon and do well. You need to be flexible. I used nothing but Canna Nutrients when I started in Coco, then changed. Then about 9 months ago, I switched back to try it again, and ran across the same salt build up. I now have been using Cyco brand nutrients and love it. I have not once had my run off going out of wack in the least bit in 3 crops.
One more thing to think about. There are a lot of ways to skin a cat and still get the same pelt. And just because one thing works best for one person. Does not mean it will work best for everyone.
You telling me to do some research before I suggest something. I have done better, and have done it over and over and over.

Thats funny. I love Canna poducts and with the exception of a cal/mag supplement, it's all I use, and never run into any issues. In fact, I always run over 10 ml per gallin of a+b for late veg and flower periods, even on autos. Like you said, just because something works (or doesn't) for one person doesnt mean that it's the final word on the subject.

I will be a doing a Coco Ebb and Flow grow in Air Pots using Coco Chips as my medium so I can water as if I were using hydroton, coir would retain too much water so I'm mixing using coco chips and croutons. Going to try out House and Garden coco line. Using a 3' x 3' table. Good thread I was wondering about water temperatures and was told it was not sensitive like DWC or Aero so water temps in the 70's is fine. I will also be pre charging mine with Liquid Karma and General Organics Cal/Mag so I wont have to add any cal/mag during the grow.

Very true. Hell I know people who grow very nice buds in Miracle Grow soil. I still think they call it miracle grow because it is a miracle when anything grows in it.

I always try and keep the temp of my nutrients between 65 and 70 degrees, even in coco. Also, Liquid Karma is good stuff, But Organic Neptune's Harvest Seaweed Plant food is just as good as Liquid Karma at 1/3 the cost.
