flushing is to get salts out of the growing medium so you don't burn the plants with salt build up. we actually can't flush nutrients out of a plant. most of the nutrients are immobile so by definition we can't move them. the others are mobile but that is up to the plant where they go. giving them straight water just slows growth it won't dilute anything in the plant. even though people swear you have to.

Oh well that's interesting. It will be good to see the results for myself and see if there is a difference in taste. Thanks
So will the bud taste ok as I only mentioned hash as I thought the bud would be 'bad'

there are quite a lot of growers out there that don't flush there plants and still swear that there is no difference in taste as long as you still do a proper cure then you should be fine I myself have smoked some really nice bud that the grower says he hadn't flushed...just give it a go and compare it to a plant if you have got the same plant that has been flushed anyway hope all goes well

Thanks guys. So where did all this flushing business come from?
Flushing is an easy bandaid fix for overfeeding or improperly feeding your plants to the point of lockout. With a good feed schedule (not the schedule on the bottle!) flushing will be unnecessary, allowing your plants roots to actually breath, grow AND eat more!

If your plant isnt toxic fed, a proper dry and cure will take care of the flowers for you and you get to enjoy the extra last 2 weeks of weight they put on because they didnt get completly deprived of oxygen and nutrients.
Plenty will disagree. They might say it taste better flushed but the problem is every harvest doesnt dry and cure at the same speed unless they went through the exact same cycles. They might say it burns black because no flush which is stupud because it will burn gray in a couple weeks its just moisture.

Just the usual places...dumb asses spewing bad info like masturbating on your plants right before harvest for increased stickiness. </sarc>
All kidding aside...whoever actually invented "flushing" is a retard. It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a master botanist to know that starving your plant in arguably the most critical time is a terrible thing. Would you "flush" your wife 2 weeks before your baby was born? No..you would feed and nurture it the best you could.

Look...it's simple. Your girls will start off not needing much food. As they mature, they eat more. When they are in full bloom is when they are at their peak appetite. As they mature and near completion, they start to eat less. The idea is to simply follow what they need. Towards the end, feed less. Why in the world would you completely starve your plant of food? I see some folks on here chomping at the bit...they can't wait until they can start flushing...sometimes 3 weeks before finish. Take a look at some of these flushed products. It's nasty looking. All of the leaves are dead..the buds are brown and nasty. Just common sense.

Thanks bro I apreciate your help

I'm not smart enough to enter the debate on flushing, but I sure hate the look of a plant that has "used up all it's stored nutrients". Those look like they are dying, not ripe....

When I started to grow, the "experts" told me that you need to flush before harvest. If not, the weed would not only have a chemical taste but also burn with visible sparks. :) That's retarded of course but I still flush just to be sure. It's a weird ritual. Like you all said, the girls look like they are dying, not ripe. Next time I will feed them all the way to the end.

The first year I grew I listened to "the experts" and flushed as well. The girls looked like shit, flimsy and yellow and were a bitch to trim. Since then I don't flush at all. I'll even give them nutes 4 days before harvest if it's their day to be fed. My unflushed girls taste better, yield better, trim better and are more potent than the first year I grew. I'm sure a lot of that also has to do with dialing in my grow and experience but that doesn't change the fact that flushing is a myth. Just a stupid, stupid myth.

yea buts that's all bullshit man, that's what we are saying.
And technically, the plant IS dying, after it flowers it's not natural for it to be regenerated. they do in fact die afterwards, grown naturally outside of course.
And grown correctly a plant should be green till the end.
Other colors may come out, but it shouldn't look shitty
