Forming a marijuana collective??

Is their a benefit to forming a marijuana collective with an expensive attorney?
We are a nonprofit so the price of a lawyer is high for us.

The lawyer I was considering.

I also stay well within the State or County guidelines.
I wouldn't form a collective with ben rice. He's a fantastic 215 lawyer, but you should get a corporate lawyer to form your non-profit, not a criminal lawyer. Rice will form your corp for you, but it's REALLY expensive. Rice is someone you should have a 1 hour consultation AFTER your collective and MBNPC is formed. Have him look it over to make sure you didn't do anything wrong, then keep his business card in case you get into legal trouble. That's what he's good at, and he is one of the best in that dept. Rice quoted me ~$20k to get my corp going, I ended up getting it done form ~$2k and that was including name trademarking and other related services.

I don't see any advantage to paying him to form your collective. A corporate lawyer will do the same thing for a fraction of the price.

Cost me $3500 plus $350 for over night processing with sec of state.
Plus we got 4 hours of support and talks.

We use James Divine in Ventura, Ca. He's a business cannabis lawyer and his partner (lieberman) is a marijuana criminal lawyer. The cost is 3k. He offers a 2 hr consultation for $500 prior to commiting. The $500 is applied toward the 3k if you decide to move forward.

You may want to consider forming a "collective association", instead of a "collective co-op". It offers the same protection without any info to the sec of state.

Best of luck, and be sure to donate some meds to very sick people facing hard times.

legit.

lawyers are expensive because they are worth it. That process would take 6 months with out a lawyer who's got a guy in Sac.

I have a web page where people can form their own collectives. I am looking for people to assist me in getting the web page going. I need people who know html language and are excellent writers. Other than that they do not need any programming experience. This is volunteer basis, but an ownership interest is available. The page is bobstrade.com. If interested, contact me.
