Found a single Nut sac on my female!!!

So I was inspecting my small female out of the 2 that I have, to check on seed development when out of the corner of my eye I saw an unusually round sac. It was too round to be a female calyx then I looked closer and it looked just like the freaking male flower sacs that my male was producing that I pollinated them with....


Soooooo......My question is, is it possible for a female to spit out a single male flower without being a full blown herm? Or does that one male flower mean that she is indeed a herm.

I will post pictures of her. She looks beautiful and has buds everywhere. I am not sure now if that sac was just sitting on the plant, cause I have the male in the same room still or if it was grown by the female. I am pretty sure I had to pluck it off though and it was under developed so it couldn't have fallen off the male.

I should have taken a picture as soon as I saw it but I got ancy and plucked it and tore it open to confirm it a male flower

Here she is. She is a beautiful looking female with nice bud formation so it is totally bizarre to me that she would just randomly develop a single sac.

I've found the same kinda thing a few times, just pick 'em off if there isn't many. I guess technically it is a herm but a female dominant herm is fine IMO.

It is possible the strain had hermaphroditic traits, however stress can be a main factor in why some females will go hermie during flower. All you can do is watch the plant and pick off the balls as they grow, or ditch the plant.

Not a herm, many females produce sacs at the last attempt to seed pollinate and seed. Survival thing. Just look thoroughly and pluck them off. I found one but it was pretty much done.

Yea Inspecting the plant very thoroughly after finding that I did not see any sign of more. You eased my mind, thank jebus. I was worried for a bit. I am growing for seed and the plants did get pollinated already so I can see it trying to get more seeds out as a survival instinct. Even if that is not what is happening it is a very good hypothesis.

A survival instinct? If the plant was already pollinated, why on earth would it grow balls just to pollinate itself? The plant went hermie due to carrying a predisposition for hermaphroditic characteristics or from stress.

upon inspecting my bigger more robust female I spotted these low on the main stalk!!

What the hell is going on.....

Don't herms show right at flowering and show very obvious herm traits??

Both of my females showed no herm traits nor grew any male parts until now after many many full female buds and seeds have began forming on top of that they aren't real male flower stalks they appear to be a couple random sacs growing straight off the main stem with no nodes or stems

Plants can herm from stress at any point, if it is a herm from seed then you are right it should show from flower

Also there is nothing stressing them out at all......they have decent temps never go above 85 never drop below 70. They have complete darkness, they are in their very own room of the house with the window covered so there is no way for light to get in there unless there is a light turned on inside the room.

They are never over watered they never dry out.....I have no clue what it could be besides natural occurrence in the genes of the strain.

Also let it be known that absolutely no signs of herm traits were seen until well into the 3rd week of flowering after many many buds and colas had already formed.

what are you growing in? Any chance you could be getting root bound?
Are you getting pollen or just balls with liquid, unformed seeds inside?
From the pics and since you say you have already pollenated to grow seed it is kinda strange I agree.

I just had to go water and look at my plants, I thought that after 6 weeks in flowering I was safe from this. Ughh I read and get freaked at all the things that can go wrong. So close yet so far :)

The whole lower half had male parts and the highest node cut had alternating sex on each side.

You're wrong sir,all plants have these genetics and if it had strong herm genes sacs would appear on every node so most likely if that plant is
self pollinated or pollinates another plant 99% of the time it will be a female.I can show you a pic of a true herm i threw out a week or 2 ago
and it was calyx and staminate hand and hand.

haha and your advise is soo much better?
It was stated a few times herms can show at anytime, and if the plant was destined to be a herm it will usually start showing at the onset of flowering.
