Found this bug in my coco. WTF is it?

Sure looks like a gnat to me. I'm of the opinion, kill them all and let God sort it out. Beats the sloppy shit out of an infestation!

DE!

Definitely a fungus gnat I'd say. If u zoom right in I can see what looks to be an antenna

Get those sticky yellow cards and stick them to a skewer in the medium.

Plant's pulled. Bin it and layer it with DE. Whatever doesn't come out to an agonizing death will starve.

The WHOLE point of using coco was ‘no bugs’.
I grow in pure coco. Some times I get them. Theres many reasons why fungus gnats can end up in ANY media. Sometimes the warehouses where many medias like soil and pure coco are left on pallets next to each other is all it takes to get fungus gnats.

You need BTi (whats in mosquito dunks) Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis. This product has it in super concentrated form and you dont have to go through the pita of breaking up mosquito dunks. Start with 6 drops per gallon at first. I applied once and the fungus gnats disappeared. Diatomacous earth only works when its dry I believe. I have a thread on how to kill these things organically if youre interested.
I wouldnt have pulled the plant if there were a couple (1-5) flying around.

Thank you very much.

The plant that got pulled was also looking a little ‘runtish’, and it freed up room.
