Four weeks later…

You should have an idea. You don't wanna be figuring it out with your chopped plant in hand. How are the temps and humidity in your location? Dry, hot, humid, cool?
That is my problem.. not planning ahead then i run around like a maniac cause i have waited and waited and HAVE to chop :)

What X jewelers loupe should I get? X10 x20 x30? How do i harvest this bad boy? I was thinking I would chop it down cut the leaves and hang it somewhere
I find a 10x loupe to be enough to scope the trichs but have an old 30X Radio Shack scope and a 60-1000X USB scope for getting in closer than I need to sometimes.

:peace:

Gotcha Just asking: How do I know I need to do an emergency harvest? Like what are the red flags? I dont want my yield to go to waste because it all spoiled or something
The only time I'd do an emergency harvest is if you started to get bud rot or something. It's hard to harvest late, but easy to harvest early. Be patient man. If you let them, they will fatten.

I live in the UK so humid. Heat is not a problem (indoors) Can I just hand the branches in a room with the good humidity and heat and itll work?

Here is my trick. Hang the whole plant or hang it in branches. Trim the fan leaves now or wait til its done drying, won’t matter. Heres the tip: weigh it every day, either a branch or the whole tree, but weigh it every day until the weight loss in a day is under 10%. At 60/60 the buds lose 30% the first day, it gradually decreases and when its under 10%/day its ready to cure, trim it, jar it, then open the jars once or twice to release gases. No paper bags, freezers, hay smell, mold…just the prrrrrfect cure. Enjoy

Yeah but in the dark. Not like photoperiod-dark but just no lights or sunlight on the buds

You don't want heat. I don't know what "so humid" means either, I'm not near the UK. 60% and 60-70° is what you want. So control it accordingly, you'll probably want to do a wet trim as well and just hang the buds in your tent or a cardboard box with minimal airflow around them, not on them

It rains there quite a bit. And it's always cold. Basically the weather is why English people are so miserable and their comedy is depressing :D ;) lol jk

looks like it needs about 2 more years...
you want the bud to look like mexican brick weed. see high times 1985 for refrence. if the bud looks pretty and tasty it's not ready for harvest. you want it to look like shit. if it smells fruity or pleasent let it go a few more weeks. if you get any sense of a good smell make sure to wait a couple more weeks.
Are you trolling?

A reason for this? I'll see what I can do.
Because sunlight/UV degrades thc. Also, chlorophyll responds to light and even when chopped down, a plant will try to survive. You don't want it trying to continue to process. You want it to breakdown. There are plenty of videos and articles on this subject and everyone seems to have their own way of determining when to jar them. Start reviewing them so you can get a general idea.

Great idea. I will use this. Another thing while my flowers are getting bigga and bigga should I use less grow lights now? How much night cycle should I do now?

If loss of yield is your goal, then no, not a problem. If you are trying to finish a few days to a week early and the loss of yield is worth it, then again no, not a problem. If you are trying to grow the best flowers you can that get "bigga and bigga" then yeah, could be a problem. And before you ask how much will you lose, that cannot be answered, given all related factors. Seems pointless but it's your plant.

This late in flower, don't pick fan leaves until you chop it. But if you want less yield and to end up having to harvest an unripe plant early, go ahead and pick them.

I thought during flower more dark period is alright for the plant. I’ll be more careful now. 12/12 it is. I won’t pick any leaves either boss
