Fox Farm guide? Also watering question. <3

Anyone know any good threads/guides for using Fox Farm nutes?

I just got my full setup running, and my Grow Big/Big Bloom/ and Tiger Bloom in.

I plan to plan to germinate some good seeds tomorrow.

I want to make sure I do all of this correctly. I tried to search the forums but couldnt really find any good information. At least for things I was needing to know.

and wondering do I follow that as it says? Also is that with every watering?

Im going to be using 10" Azalea pots, looks to be about a 3gal pot. I plan to use this through the whole grow.

So was also wondering how much water should I give them and how often?

not sure exactly what you are looking for. so here is some info...

dont start your nutes until the plants are a few weeks old. then start them on a 1/4 strength grow big and work your way up to full strength over the next few waterings. watch for nutrient burns and adjust as necessry cause some plants are more sensitive than others.

i start the bigbloom one week before i switch to 12/12, dont know why, i just do it that way, lol. i have heard that you can use big bloom through the entire life of the plant though. i dont see why you couldnt, the npk is very slim. i start them on tiger bloom when i switch to 12/12. so use both tiger and big bloom together for flowering.

as far as when to water alot of things factor into this. pot size, room temp, plants age, flowering or vegging ect. so i let my pots dry out a little before i water them. for me using 3 gallon pots when vegging it tends to be about every 2-3 days, usually like 3 days. for flowering they will use more water so still 2-3 days, but closer to 2 days. i have some smaller pots in flowering right now that dry out extremely fast so i water them every 1-2 days.

really though, just pay attention to your soil and plants, this is the only way to know when to water.

When you say 1/4 str, are you referring to 1/4 of 2tbsp as listed on the Fox Farm guide?

Also when they are seedlings, and still very tiny, do I go ahead and add a lot of water to spread throughout the 3gal pot? Or do I just do a tiny bit in the area of the plant?

Thanks a lot for replying tho, a lot of what you said was a big help. It is addicting. I only started reading up on this about 3 weeks ago. Thought I would do it, and I was an UBER newb then. I thought I could just throw some plants ina closet with a light and bam! $600 and 3weeks later, Ive got a setup. haha.

yes, 1/4 of what is the suggested amount on the bottle.

for seedlings i just water in the general area of the plant. there is no need to flood the whole pot of soil.

ya growing can get super expensive to start, and to maintain, but well worth it in my opinion. it is the only hobby that i have been able to keep interest in. and if you choose to sell a little you can easily make back your expenses in one harvest.

Get a calcium and magnesium supplement, my fox farms grow has had issues with that all along. Feed them every other watering starting when the leaves start to yellow a bit, and like jact said, quarter strength at first (I used half strength on most to start, but you really only need a little at first)

Also, see if you can get some perlite to add to the soil, and dolomite or garden lime to control pH

Oh, you 100% need pH up and down because the fox line tends to be acidic and it can be too acidic. I had issues with this.

Will pick some ph up/down up tomorrow. Also getting a better pH test if I can find one. Also need to grab better soil and already have perlite. Plan to do about a 1/4 to 1/3 mix of it.

FOR SURE on the CAL MAG! I use FF and found the same thing in my aerogarden. Had a Cal Def due to using RO water(Reverse Osmosis Filters out calcium and magnesium) Added CAL MAG and its all better.
