Politics crack me up. Small government? Sure, then there wont be any central authority to stop some rich guy from hiring an army and taking over. Or many rich guys..whatever, we can be like the dark ages with nobles who have castles subjugating the poor.
Speaking of subjugation. I find it very funny that people often think that it couldn't have been so bad for the slaves, especially the house ones, after all - they had a roof, food, and a place to lay their head. Predominantly the demographic of those who hold this view is entitled, white, and christian. Ironically, these same people are so afraid of communism and would fight it to the death. Why? You get a roof, food, and a place to lay your head - not so bad eh? At the least you likely wouldn't even be tortured, whipped, beaten and raped as much as they were.
Speaking of christians, why's everyone so butt hurt about the gays? Get it? Butt hurt? hahah! After all, the old testament endorsed polygamy, incest, rape, etc. Jesus never condemned the old testament when he came, but said something like that he was there to affirm it or what not. Muhammad fucked a 9 year old girl whom he wed when she was 6 too.
Look, fellas, both sides of the aisle have their head so far up their ass they're bound to find a golden turd every now and then, but predominantly they're just regular old stanky turds. The predominant reason is that the elite have managed to circumvent the separation of powers and de facto enact a sort of dark ages with nobles who have castles subjugating the poor somewhat explained by Mill's Power Elite Theory. The real funny thing about this is that they're ultimately worse off for it. Sure, kings had a dude following them around with a private toilet who wiped his ass. They also didn't have windows, weren't exempt from being ravaged by lice or disease, and the best medicine they had was blood letting.
It was when there was a large influx of gold into europe (unfortunately from exploitation) and guns were invented (allowing the poor to kill their rich oppressors) that the masses weren't just forced to barely get by with subsistence farming (minimum wage anyone?). So now we had a situation where it wasn't just a few rich entitled twats like plato, volta, etc. who were able to innovate - there was a larger pool of people. BAM - industrial revolution. All humans have the same chance genetically to be great - more or less - some people are born with more intellect than others but it has nothing to with race or creed (albeit religion is for tools). The difference being, when you're born to a rich family you have a chance to succeed - when you're born to a poor family, and especially if you're a minority (black man with a college degree less likely to get a call back on a job interview than a white man with a felony) and are not offered the same chances to succeed of course you're not going to get as far ahead. As history has shown, the whole of the world is worse for this. So drink up you gluttonous aristocrats - when there's no cure for your cancer you have your own greed to thank.
