foxfarm ocean forest

sup growers i have two quick questions i would like some help on.Im growing using foxfarms ocean forest ,im watering with full strengh hygrozyme at a ph of 5.8, my run off waters ends up around 5.4.I would like to know if the ph dropping to 5.4 is ok or should i change any thing.Also my second question is when should i start giving my plants some nutes,right now the ppm in the run off water is above 2000 ppm.i would appreciate any advse to which nutes best work with plants grown in foxfarm ocean forest, and how should saud nutes be administered

I really like the Fox Farm nutes. Especially Open Sesame. I have had great results with it.

What stage are you in? 2000 ppm seems high to me...any signs of distress?

i dont use hygrozyme. Is it neccessary to keep the ph that low with it or something? I am confused here...

Have any pics?

I am no expert bro....but I know a bit.

If you want help though, read my whole post and respond to ALL the questions I ask, not just the last one!

I want to make sure I have all the info before advising ya know? I don't just pull info outta my ass!

Get the fox farm line of nutes. Grow big for veg. Big bloom, and tiger bloom for flower. And if you've got the cash get the powdered ones too (Open sesame, beastie bloomz, cha ching).

With that line of nutes you listed above...do you adjust pH as well?

Yeah I have the same question. For soil, your pH should be 6.3 - 6.8.

Most people who use hygrozyme are in hydro. I have no doubt it could be beneficial in soil though.

However, you should use it in between feeding the plants with nutes, not EVERY watering. I just looked this up on their website.


Like Revolution said, the Fox Farm ferts are best with Fox Farm soil. I use the 6 product line he mentioned myself.

Get your pH up. The actual soultion should be 6.3 - 6.8 in soil.

You didn't answer me...what stage are you in? I assume vegetative? How old are the plants?

What kind of light are you using?

I have all thes, works GREAT, water should be 6.4 or so, your too low, i had the same problem but just corrected it. Fox Farm nutes rule, i live in Canada and have to buy them from the U.S then get them shipped here, but they are well worth it. Read my journel if you like

Also next round cut the ocean forest with a bog of light warrior. About 50/50 maybe a little more ocean forest. It's a more preferable soil mix for marijuana.

I agree completely, although I use a 2:1 ratio, Ocean Forest to Light Warrior.

The Light Warrior provides excellent drainage and promotes root development. I have 3+ foot tall ladies using this nute/soil setup, with only 1 month of veg under CFL's and under a month of flowering with 2-250 watt HPS'.

2:1 also works very well. I usually did one of the big regular sized bags of ocean forest to one of the normal a little smaller bags of the light warrior. That was a really good mix. But yeah pretty much just need the light warrior for the drainage. Quick drainage means more capillary action which means more oxygen gets pulled down to the roots which means plants are going to get bigger. :D

So what is the benefits of using Light Warrior?
I already use Fox Farm Oceans Forrest and I love it! I never have nute burn or any problems of any kind. So if light warrior has less nutes... Why use it?
Just currious is all.

Hdyrozyme is being used because, he is using RO water. I grow in soil and use RO water and I have to use hydrozyme,

I used fox farm soil
big bloom
tiger bloom
hydrozyme
hydroplex
blast off

thas it.

This is why.

Plus, LW has humic acid and mycorrizae (spelling), both which also promote root health.

Found the answer to your own question. :) I like that. Yeah pretty much for the drainage and for the root health. The light warrior is awesome for that and the ocean forest is good for the nutritional value it contains. I've never had nute burn with ocean forest either (although I've heard some strains are temperamental and will burn with just ocean forest), but the cut is for those other reasons.

I burned seedlings in Ocean Forest alone once. Not too bad, but their growth was stunted for a few days.

Since I switched to cutting it down with Ligh Warrior, no burns! Same strain, too.

This latest run, I have 40" ladies that out grew the males even, and got that big in less than 2 months in soil under 2-250 watt hps lights and some cfl's!!
