Hi, I've got autos in 5 week flower and my first grow. I've started to notice some weird growth over last 2 days. Unsure if its normal growth or if they are starting to foxtail.
Led lights 18-24 inch off canopy
Temp 85f
Humidity 50%.
Thanks

I did a bunch of reading and concluded that, if a plant is foxtailing on just the top and the parts closest to the light, it is heat or light stress and should be corrected.
If it is foxtailing all over, that is genetic trait and just let it go.
You know whether you have been too hot or not right?

Its basically on top, a guy on thc farmer had said when I had it at 25 degree c it was too cold and to put it up to 29 degree c. Thats whats caused it because they were fine before hand. Thanks

Ah, my plant is a genetic thing, it is sprouting them all over, even in low away from the light areas. Some have grown close together and filled in. They seem solid and frosty, so I'm not too worried.

Yeah, no replacement for experience right? Lots to learn for me as well.
Some advice I have seen given and may take. Grow the same strain a few times /clones if possible. Get it nailed down, learn to read it and and branch out from there.

Definitely, I'll do the same strain again but not autos. Not enough time if things go sour

I just did this last week. I turned off a fan while I was working and forgot to turn it back on again. The next day I had foxtails on the top near the light. Weed can take a lot of heat if they have a steady breeze blowing on them. Without the breeze some strains can get stressed.

Absolutely, I'll be more careful next time. Does foxtailing produce less bud/less thc. I'm reading conflicting stories about it and can you cut the foxtails off to stop it.
