Foxtailing

Foxtailing is a genetic trait that comes from the sativa side of the plant you are growing.
Sometimes it is seen as a latent tendency, coming out as a stress indicator, such as when excessive light intensity triggers foxtailing.
Sometimes it is a dominant trait due to genetic predisposition such as the foxtailing seen in certain Sativa landrace plants.
Foxtailing is when calyxes pile on one another in a lateral collection upwards.
Instead of a chunky bud, you get a thin stick of calyxes.
Generally, it is seen as bad, because it ruins the perfect look of the rounded, manicured masses of identical buds in the display case.

It isn’t necessarily bad.

Sometimes it’s unavoidable if it’s genetic.

more often than not foxtailing happens due to high heat and low humidity in genetics that aren’t prone to foxtailing.

If it’s genetic there is fuck all you can do about it.
 
any of these photos you could call foxtailing? i seriously cant recognized it....

That's healthy expression. No problem there, I don''t think.
If it was the result of a stress reaction, you'd see the damage on the buds.
 
first one should be some other genetic mutation polysomething but last one i was really betting on looks strange.
anybody got photos of foxtails?
