I'm building a 6 light frame, will be using two 225w 3 light kits, 75w per COB. Timber kits so they'll have reflectors and diffusers. Similar to this one :

I'm not good with calculating coverages and the like, wanted to get opinions on optimal cob placement, like distance between COBs or a good general size for frame. thanks for any help..

g'day Six,
i wouldnt go any bigger then 2 x 2 foot frame.
maybe Cobs could go just inside a 2x2, its sort of hard to place 6 COBs in a square, 8 COBs @ 1400ma might work better
& give a higher PPFD.

Thanks Vertical, I ended up with a 30" x 24" frame, with extra length to accommodate drivers and support points. I'm going to post in the Timber thread with shopping list and steps for someone liking the build. It was time consuming but easy. If I can do this anyone can. I wanted sturdy but cheap, and wanted an open center so I can use my AgroMax Pure UV from top center of tent. Sturdy dual 1" cross beams will hold the drivers and suspended weight.

1 - 8ft 1" square aluminium cut into 24" sections - $ 16.86
4 - 36" 3/4: angle cut to 30" - $ 3.87ea
Bulk chain 4pcs 7 links - $3.50
Misc hardware - $5.00
