Bigger space and more light is a bigger yield.

With what you have..I would just be happy with the learning experience involved. When ever you get a chance, get a bigger grow room and buy a HID light. Thats the way to go. Because with what your doing now, You can expect no big yield and growth will be slow.

If getting a bigger room is not an option, I would 12/12 from seeds and SOG that cabinet to the max.

If the cabinet is six feet tall, why not utilize it for height? Veg a few to about 3 1/2 or 4 feet tall, then flower. Your yield should be much more that way I would think. And if you're shooting for fastest and biggest right out of the gate, you're most likely in for a disappointment. growing takes knowledge and more importantly, patience. Greed should not be a factor.

12/12 from seed - no vegetation. goes straight into flowering when mature. get a few 42w cfls 2700k spectrum.

you can top sour d plants but if you are limited on space dont use cfl's or HIDs you need to go get a T5 setup for sure. You can run at least 3 plants under a single T5 bulb ($40) until the are probably 12" or so. Anything more than that you will want a dual or quad bulb setup. Duals are about $80 and the big quad bulb setup is about $179 but you may not have enough space for that in that little cabinet. Lets see, 6ft long maybe 2 single bulb setups is the way to go that way you can give them plenty of space. The one I have is a 2footer but im only running a single bulb/ single plant. Started at 20/4 but i just started yesterday on a 24/0 cycle and she just exploded overnight. You can get the lights within an inch or 2 of the plant without ever causing any damage. They run very cool and really make a difference. Next grow its something to look into for yourself.
Best of all they are making "bloom bulbs" for the T5's now that are only like $15 that you just swap into the hood when you start flowering. Super cheap and no HPS necessary. For blooming i would go with the dual setup though. still, you are saving a fortune on an HPS setup!

I guess another way to go if you use the bloom bulbs would be to just mount a single bulb setup, 1 on each side of the plant.
