So I grew two Rootbeer Freeze plants. Both definately have a Rootbeer creamy flavor for sure but its not as loud as I hoped. I smell it in the jar and not on the exhale.
One of the two was a herm. She was tested as a girl. Was babied, very stress free and popped balls at the end. So many seeds since I stopped checking...
I was hoping to keep one of these as a mom but the flavour is muted too much for that prestigious spot in the tent.
Good plant. Strong Growth. Verigation was cool. Actual Rootbeer terps kind of blows my mind or its some mind trick. Nice Rosin... yield feels avg, not high. 8/10
(Now for these Skunkteks in flower... George Clinton and Limeheads)

How was the potency?
I'm in the same boat. Grew 2 RBF's and 2 Coco Cola X Jaro F3. One of each was a hermie. Muted Rootbeer on both the RBF's like you said. Some cola gummy on one of the others and the other was more kushy. Seeds for days and none of them very potent (possibly due to seeds). Both of mine hermed around week 5. I'd give them a 6/10 and probably won't run them again. I've heard from people that have bred it forward that there's less problems but just hearsay.

You have to run them from clone to really find out. Plants from seed never tell you what a strain is really about. It's some hype however there is gold in them with good potential. It's a better breeder strain.

For me is a hermie from Seed a big red flag.
And if the flavor and the potency isn't there, I don't wast my time to run here again as a cut.
I have done it and it was always a waste of time

You're missing out then, some of the best smokes throw hermies in late flower, just gotta pay extra attention so it doesn't mess up everything lol

I agree, also to add plants have to adjust to your environment. So a hermie on a seed run means nothing. Run it from clone and thats the true test, if it hermies in clone form then that's ur red flag.
We all operate differently and that's ok we do what works best for our gardens. Diversity in thinking helps our community.

That is correct.
But in my experience and from my point of view a hermie from Seed is really bad and I don't talk about herms in late flower.
Late flower herms are sometimes okay, if the smoke is really good.
I'm from Europe and to me the "American way" to tolerate Herms is crazy
I know cannabis is not really stable but I like breeders that try to breed away from Herms.
If a Seed run herms, why would I waste my time with a second run, with the risk of getting tons of seeds.
To me it sounds a little funny.

because now days people are searching for that one specific pheno and not looking for things that will breed stable for years to come. Yes best of both worlds would be great but times have changed. There are lots of strains that herm on the seed run but don't on the clone run.

In my world:
Is it a hermie?
Does the plant easily gets mold?
Is it a plant, that needs tons of nutrients?
Can I clone it without problems?
This is my checkbox.
To me, this is important and I don't care if the smoke is good. If the plant dont check this simple list, it has to go.
And my Skylights f1 get easy mold, does herm but is easy to clone.
Smoke is kinda lame so bye bye.
I bet we all have to many seeds in the fridge to tolerate such crap.
And it really surprises me, because geene is so hyped up, I wasn't expecting just normal plants.

Had this just happen for the first time for me. Took cuts from two female plants outside, got em goin inside, triggered the light and one of the two strains threw nutsacks everywhere. One strain was fine. Both from retail female seeds. I’m still shook up
I’m ocd on my plants, so I overwatch them, but I’ve never had it happen before

Some of the best strains created were the result of accidental hermies pollinating a grow.. If those growers had been on their game and removing herms or tossing the seeds bcs they 'may be herm prone' think of all the great bud we would have missed out on
I am not saying intentionally try to breed for herm but sometimes it can help create pure gold of a strain..
I actually get excited now when I find a herm or unintentional seed in a bud thinking who knows, that could be the next best thing
