Fresh transplants

Hi yall!

Hope all is well

So I just transplanted today from the small white pot to these 3 gal smart pots. I was giving them a half cup of water up untill they dried out every day.

How much water should I give them now ?

The soil was new moist soil so I didnt really give them any after I re potted them

Side note. Yes the leave are drooping . I finally got my ph kit and stopped trying to feed them because its fox farm soil.

However if anyone has a good guess why, I am open to all suggestions.

Those look overwatered. FF is heavy and doesn't drain well. You probably had tight root balls as well. That is a small plant for that pot. i'd water it to run off once a week. Unless the leaves start rolling upwards into canoes or start turning over before then. Signs of drought.

Keep your ph between 6.2 and 6.5. FF is notorius for ph creep. You will have to start feeding or top dressing between weeks5 and 7. Soil is usually depleted by then. I run FFOF. But I have learned to custom mix it for better performance.

I'll do that. Now the main reason they started drooping was I didnt have a ph kit and what I was giving them was super low . Plus to small pot . I read o need to water them after transplant so I'm trying to figure out how much

Seems like everything I'm doing is just off and I dont understand why . I tool the watering advice of letting them dry out most of the way . Feeling for how light the pots get and doing the first nuckle trick. Been ph'ing to 6.5 but its only day 2 of the correct ph water .

They are still over watered. The tight root ball was still soaked in the middle due to soil density. I can see a water ring in the pic. Let them dry for a couple days. Then slowly add a cup of water at a time until you see runoff. Let the pots sit in it for half an hour. Fabric leaks before saturation. Then lift the pot and remember that weight. Pick the pot up everyday until feels light. Then repeat the process. That pot should take about 3 cups and go 4-5 days. That will increase as the plant grows.

That wet ring you see is the fresh FF soil. It hadent dried out yet .

Was fresh out of a new bag. The top is dry now

Over watering is the number killer of plants. They droop, you think they are dry. Vicious cycle. Exact opposite is true. Leaves curl upward then die.

I water them well after any transplant. I also coat all the roots and new hole with Mykos when I transplant. Then water again when they are ready for more. You also have fabric pots which is a bonus, so they will get more air. Also a little droop after a transplant isn't uncommon.

I used the same pots of FFOF for the first 3 rounds, before turning it into a true no-till living soil. I only used organics the whole time though.

And there's no need to pH adjust water for FFOF unless you're water is really crazy. The soil alone has some pH buffers already.

Here's my first round in the plain FFOF, using only organic nutes, and never checking pH.

Next run trying cutting your soil with about 35% coco. Lightens the mix and allows the roots to breathe.

Yeah quickly after using the correct ph. I don't have a digital tester yet because I'm poor lol but I'm using a GH kit and keeping the color matched to their 6.5 .

My filtered water comes out at like 5.8 to 6.0 .

So I guess I wont adjust my ph since ita not super low .

I used root magic mykros have heard blue planet nutrient products are pretty good . God I hope I am right

Thanks guys, didn't know FF had ph buffers in it. that's probably why they are still drooping . Slightly high in the ph.

They are a 50/50 of ocean and happy frog. was all I could get at the moment and there is worse stuff

I do have a tent kit on the way I got with my refund. That should help a little bit with environment. They are in my closets corner as you can see. With space blanket covered walls
