Frist Grow Backyard Bagseed (pics)

Hey RIU whats good. This is just a little test but i want to see if i get any yeild. Ive got 2 plants and id be happy to share pics and get advice if its offered. Ill try and update every couple days.

Soil- honestly i just used some old soil that was from some old plants that died but it looked good still, there where some earth worms and some kind of white ball nutes.

This first plant got about a week head start over the other one, but these are the pics i got of its early life so far.

Im kinda worried about the first plant, (the bigger of the 2) because when i started it (this was all around easter, keep in mind) i kept it in a waterbottle like the 2nd one is. I didnt put any cuts in the bottle for the first one (dumb idea i know) so i tryed to take it out carefully and put it in the ground. Well the soil that was in the bottle wasnt as packed down as i tought and it all fell out including the root system . Quickly and carefuly after putting it back into the ground, i burryed it in some good soil and it actually seemed to be growing fine, untill today i noticed the very bottem first set of leaves are turing really bright bright green you can kinda see it in the picture. Basicly i think i might have coverd too much of the stem in the dirt when i transplanted it to the ground. should i dig a little bit of soil up or leave it how it is?

you can see what i looked like when it was still in the bottle its a blurry ass pic but its the first one at the very top of my post. oh well the 2nd one seems to be coming along pretty well though.

Dude your all good. Both plants look great. Don't get parenting paranoia. Maintain the zen of growing. The less you do the better. Just give it water and food and let it do the rest.

Hey guys its been a little while since ive updated. Alot of things changed. Both plants are coming along fine, a little bit slow compared to some of the outdoor grows i saw around the site, but it doesnt really bug me, as long as they grow. Ive also started a 3rd plant that i want to try to incorparate super cropping into. Its very young so i want to see if bending the stem does actually help. I wasnt planning on growing another, but i kid you not, this taproot after germination was soooo long a straight i knew id be a healthy ass plant.Dont really care what happens to this 3rd one tought, 2 plants are fine with me if it doesnt work out.

Ive also added some new nuts.

1. I got some egg shells and grouned them up into a power and put it in a water bottle filled with about 1/4 of water and let them sit and delude. Used it yesterday.

2. I also got some Miracle Grow Plant Good Spikes, and i know alot of people frown on MG, especially the spike strips. I cut about 1/8th of a stick and put it in a water bottle with water filled again about 1/4. I let it sit and delude and also used this yesterday. Im useing this formula only once every 2.5-3 weeks. It even looks strong.

3. Dont really know if this counts, but i went earthworm hunting and found a huge sucker, so i burried him right next to the first plant (not disturbing any roots of corse). I hear that he will love my eggshell mix for the protein.
--------------------------------
When i checked out my small crop today i noticed signifigant difference in the leaf devolopment since yesterday. Usually they only grow a new set of leaves each day, but today was about 2 new sets per plant (minus the new one its to young. On a side note, i feel that Plant 1 is a more saltiva dominate while plant 2 looks more indica. Any thoughts on this? Any thoughts at all? Lemme know what you guys think!:leaf:

Pics 1-2 are first plant
Pics 3-4 are 2nd plant
Pic 5 is the 3rd new one
And Pic 6 is the ammout of MG that i cut

Now is a good time to do some research on sexing your plants. From what i can tell there is no good evidence yet of sex parts on your plants. But your pics are not very close up or in focus to really tell. I'm assuming they are about 12/12 light cycle as they are outdoors. You should start seeing the beginings of sex parts within the next week or so. Females have a sheath with white wispy hairs comming out, usually two hairs. You will want to look in the joint where the branches meet the main stem, and look at the top shoot also. Males make lobes (balls, nutts) instead of sheaths and there are no white hairs on the male nutts. If I was you I'd spend a few hours looking at photos and descriptions on the web. You're going to find it pretty easy to sex ID your plant after a few hours of reserch.

Also, don't go throwing away your plants if you think they are males. Spend some time making sure its a male before you go chopping it down. In the first week or two after bloom its not obvious what the sex is and it is easy to get your mind mixed up about the plant. Once your are sure what the males and what the females are then you can option to chop your males. The males won't be good for pollen during the first 2-3 weeks so you can hold your horses and get in some good observation time.

You may want to grow your males and do a fertilization to get some seeds for your next grow. You may find you have a hermaphrodite plant (both male and female) this plant will fertilize also and give you seeds.

I like to buy my seeds online when I'm not inclined to run a cloning operation, so I always just chop my males once I'm sure they are males.

I think you can safely sit back for a few weeks and just watch the plants grow. It's going to be obvious if you got a female.

Animals like to chomp on MJ. I've had cats eat my new seedlings. I almost cried the day my cat ate a few of my plants. You may want to put a little wire cage (chicken wire) around your plants for protection.

Don't tell anybody you are growing. It's rule number one and many people like to break that rule.

Are your plants in pots in the ground or are they exposed to the surrounding soil? What are your plans for fertilizing? How much rain water or tap water are they getting? How many hours of light do they get a day (sunrise to sunset). How many hours of direct sunlight do they get a day?

Dude,

Chances are your going to get some kind of bugs or infection of some sort eventually due to your growing outdoors. I'd do some research on Neem Oil. If I was you I'd go get some ahead of time so that if you get some sort of infestation you can spray your plants right away and kill those bastards. Most growers have to deal with some sort of attack on their plants and Neem Oil does well with insects and some fungus. White flies, thripes, leaf miners, aphids and spidermites are all pretty common.

What kind of neighboors you got. I noticed you got a fence close to your plants. You may get some stinky weed from that bag seed. If you got nosey backyard type neighboors you might want to consider moving your plants now away from that fence, while they are still young.

Hey man, thanks for the reply. I actually have been doin my research on sexing them myself, and at points i thought the first plant was fem because in the center it looked as if there was hair but it was only the new very immature leaves coming in. If there both male that sucks, and yeah dont worry bro ima take my time untill im positive i got a male and kill it, if thats the case. A hermaphrodite sounds fine to me, seeds are alaways good. One thing i am worryed about are animals munchin on them. The wire'd chicken fence is a great idea, but one i cannot use because that will draw attention of humans who cant know thier there (and dont). The light is more like 10/14 atm if that makes sence, i know they arent getting all the light they should but its pretty damn close. I think im safe from neighbors, that fence is where the backyard ends, and i have 2 on the left and right as well, and in in the middle of the yard. Plus i heard news that a while ago one of my neighbors grew weed inbetween her tomato plants when i was a lil kid (lol). The worst thing is i feel there getting over waterd. The day before i took those last pics, plant 1 was very droopy in the leaves, but overnight i guess some of that water got out of there. Rains a killer here. Last, as for pots, Plant 1 was in a half cut waterbottle, wich i removed and inserted into the soil. It my have gotten stunned growth for a day or 2 because it kinda got messed up, but i think its way over the shock now. Plant 2 however, is in a waterbottle still, but this one has holes cut all around it to a) let roots come out and start goin deeper into the soil, and b) so they have some kind of flush system.

For fertalizer i bought some Miracle grow plant sticks (ON NO!) but i cut them up into tiny peices and let them sit in water to decay, giving the water a blue color, as well as added small ammounts of crushed up fish food, powderd eggshells, crushed up nute balls, and some earthworms when i can find em :p

looks pretty good to me. i'd just let them do their thing for a bit.

when they get 12 nodes tall you may be able to start seeing preflowers. look where the node meets the main stem, between the 8th and 12th.

New pics of my plant. Note i killed the 2nd one cuz the bottle was restricting the root growth i tryed to save it but it wasnt happing but the orignal plant is looking great it look like a female to me. : )

Looks like you are having low temps at night. Looking good though. If its in a pot I would bring it in at night to start flowering. Do that for a week or so to find out if you're wasting your time.

Yeah the temps can get a lil bit low at night, but i think its more of a issue of the sun, the fence behind it blocks it in the morn but a lil after the afternoon, its right on em till night time. Unfortunatly, its not in a pot ither, that would be too noticeable ya know? Thanks for the suggestion tho.

Looking green and healthy nice work man:)
Thanks man its finally startin to look nice so far its been better then i though looks wise i have no idea what the seed was lol

And also i got some pic updates of what i think are the prebuds. the new cam i got on my phone is sickk : P
