*UPDATE*

All 5 cheese seeds have cracked and 2 now long enough to go into root riot. Had a problem getting one in due to it being really long and "S" shaped.

Root riot comes moist anyway but should I have soaked them in PH balanced water? I have my 400HOS on too, should this even be on yet and what light schedule.

Also when do I use the Vita Link Plant Start?

As long as your cubes were somewhat moist, you should be fine. You don't need to run the light until one of the seeds sprouts from the surface. From then on use 18/6 light schedule until you're ready to induce flowering. Try to get the light within 18" as long as heat isn't a problem. Use a small fan to blow hot air from the light away from your plants. Don't use any nutrients for two weeks.

The plastic cups didnt come in time, they will be here in the morning. I do have another plastic cup although it is not transparent, can I use that?

Nah, transparent would be best. That way you won't have to remove them everytime to see if they sprouted. Probably won't hurt if you don't use them.

So soon as they sprout, remove the cups (when they come) and they will be ok under the light at distance Then keep moist with ph adjusted water? When do I use the plant start?

Don't "keep moist", let the top dry out a bit between waterings. I'm not familiar with "plant start" so I can't help you there. As I said, though, no nutes for the first two weeks. After that you start at 1/4 of the recommended strength on the bottle. Increase week by week slowly working up to full dose and only if you're plants are responding well.

Thought you would be interested to see how your advice has done me, so here is some pics.

They were started last Thursday.

Ive forgotten which one is the Haze but im sure ill find out soon.

Ive named them 1 - 6 from top left, going right, the way we read in the western world anyway with 6 being the largest.

Is 6 stretching? They are on the floor and the 400HPS is at the highest point approx 1.8 metres up. Shit scared of frying them.

1, 2, 3, 5, 6 have/are sprouting and rapidly over the last few hours.

4 however is the slower one, could this be the Haze?


Now im no expert but is this progressing fast?

That #6 looks a little stretched, yeah. Try to get the light as close as possible, say 30-45cm. Watch the temperatures, though. I hope you have a good thermometer. You can also place your hand near the plants and if you can feel too much heat from the light, so can your plants.

Lowest I can get it is 50cm till the easy rollers come which is any day now. No thermometer but ill ebay one now. What temp do I look for at plant surface?

Im going to diamond mylar the inside of the tent.

Since my last post, its grown again. Is it trying to stretch upto where it can get decent light?

Ive got them on top of an upside down bucket now, ill prop up some more.

Its Michael Jackson mad here in the UK now. I bet its worse over there.

HELP!! This morning they look like this. The light was 40cm away and was not hot.


They aint gone yellow or anything, will they recover?

Are those cubes wet? Might be overwatering. I've seen the same thing due to underwatering as well so watch out. Could just be too much heat from the light. Back it off until you can get a thermometer, hopefully very soon.

They were dry this morning after watering them a few times yesterday. Ive moved the light.

I could of over watered as they aint dryed out, but can that be cured?

Could 24hr light be the problem? Should I give them some dark time?

I don't think the photoperiod is the problem, though I happen to prefer 18/6. I do it more to give my girls some time to cool off. This is one very resilient plant, so the odds are in your favor, and by that I mean you probably haven't harmed your little ones irreparably. Make sure you don't water again until the top layer of cubes dry out. After the seedlings fully recover you should put a small fan in there to stimulate the stems so that they thicken.

Ive buried them deeper which was a nighmate. I had to S shape the stem deeper into the root riot. Ive left the light on too as im guessing they will head for the light again if they are alive. Leaves are still green and the good one is still happy. If there is no movement in a few hours I guess they are dead.
