From The Ground Up: New Build/ New Grow

Just starting a new build to get me underway so thought id do a full breakdown of what iv done/ planing on doing, right from the begininning.
It may help some people out, it might not
Anyway heres a set by step of what im doing


just set up my 5litre bubbler:
get bucket.


cut hole in lid for net pot.


add airstone.


make hole for tubing.


connect tubing.


and your done! simple

for my cab i have a smaller drawer ting ill be converting into my mini cab



i need to remove the drawer and sliders and build a light proof door, which when i can find the right colour wood ill be doing



theres not going to be much happening for a small while untill i gather a few quid to get some materials but im in no rush and want a quality build so stay tuned

i never understood why people drill a hole in the bucket for the air line(destroying it) instead of putting it in the lid where holes are being drilled already.

just the way i always done it lol i have plenty of airline and i like the lid accesible without having the airstone needing to be pulled out which lets me silicone it in place

Thanks man, love the quick run down.

you use a little air line valve so when you need to move it or check it you just turn it off and slip the line off the end. that leaves. few inches of line hanging from bucket and no silicon needed.

I do because I life my lids quite frequently. Having the airline in the lid makes just more hassle when I am adding water or checking the under side, I am in individual buckets not RWDC maybe there I would.

i cut an extra 2" hole in the lid, stick a netpot and collar in it and run the airline through it. when i need to check res or add i go through that hole, then when i cange res is only time lid needs to come off.
